Yah I thought so too but then I saw this.... http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/story.asp?id=205763 It’s also conceivable the Bulls could move a player to free up extra money. Michael Sweetney ($2.7 million), Malik Allen ($1.8 million), Viktor Khryapa ($1.2 million) and J.R. Smith ($1.1 million) are some of the possibilities who could be sent to a team that has cap room or a trade exception.
OK let me just say that what you are calling the IL spots 13-15 has one seat reserved for Ryan Bowen this year. There is no way that Novak sits and Ryan plays - if that happens then Morey is certifiable for the nut house. You do not sit a guy who can hit his shot for another whose next career is playing Mr. Chicken mascot at some minor league arena. That Rybo has a 2nd year on his contract is reason enough to take away Gundy's personnel authority.
Okay, then let me say this, JVG is a defensive minded coach. With T-Mac, Yao, Battier, Head, Howard, Jeffries, Alston, & McInnis all very capable scorers, do you really think he'll want a no defense playing player on the bench? Personally, I agree with you. That's why I put a (?) beside both of their names. I'd much rather have more offensive fire power off the bench, but who knows.
Besides back court, I think Rox need another tough guy who can play 4 and 5. As a matter of fact, Jeffries is not solid enough to play 5. Then, why not Orlando's free agent Tony Battie?
If I was GM, my roster would look this: Ming Mutombo Howard Cato Hayes Mcgrady Battier Wells Bogans James Alston Head Novak Bowen JLIII A real Gm would get this done.
I don't think Orlando wants to let him go & they own his Bird Rights. Aside from that, they're both listed at 6'11" 240lbs., but Jeffries is more athletic & can play the 3/4/5 positions & I read somewhere that he can even play at the 2 spot. Whether that is true or not, he still gives us much more versatility & enough of a threat from 3pt range to help keep defenses honest. If it's a 3rd string center that you want, we could make a minimum offer to Cato, Ervin Johnson, Jake Voskuhl, Loren Woods, or Lorenzen Wright. They're all unrestricted free agents.
Actually, I don't think Howard, Hayes, even Battier could defend Tim or Dirk or Brand. Rox still need to acquire another big, tough PF if their goal is NBA champ. U is necessary for Heat. Then, who is Rox' U? Hayes is not enough. He'd be a good bench player. OK, the next question is T-Mac's position. I think it is good for protecting his back to let him play 2. And Battier has been proved that he is a excellent outside defender. And that's why I insist that Rox need another PF who can play 4 and 5, like what Cato done 2 years ago.
I will play the game. I will just name the players that I would try to bring to camp. PG - Rafer Alston 6'2" PG - John Lucas III 5'11" free agent Players Minimum PG/SG - Mike James 6'2" free agent MLE or TE PG/SG - Luther Head 6'3" SG - Pat Carroll 6'5" free agent Players Minimum SG/SF - DeShawn Stevenson 6'5" free agent MLE or TE SG/SF - Tracy McGrady 6'9" SG/SF/PF - Shane Battier 6'9" trade for SF/PF - Steve Novak 6'10" SF/PF - Chuck Hayes 6'6" SF/PF/C - Jarred Jeffries 6'11" restricted free agent MLE or TE PF - Juwan Howard 6'9" PF - Scott Padgett 6'9" free agent vets minimum PF - Lonnie Baxter 6'8" free agent Vets Minimum C - Deke Motumbo C - Yao Ming Other off season moves I would persue A trade for the rights to PF Louis Scola 6'9" A trade for Marcus Banks if the MJ signing fell through That would give us 16 players in camp with a lot of youth and talent to try and make the team.
