i believe the thread starter, but honestly, id rather the sonics stayed in seattle and new orleans just moved to okc. i understand it won't happen, but NO wasn't a fantastic sports town in the first place and their population just got halved. however, the team that needs to move most is definatley new jersey. that team has vince carter, jason kidd and richard jefferson and their playoff games (PLAYOFF GAMES!) have entire sections of empty seats. nets have, without a doubt, the worst fans.

Let's assume this guy knows what he is talking about. Since the Mods have not moved it or locked it, answer the question. Quit minding their business. We could use half the Seattle roster, maybe more. Rashard Lewis is overdue to come home, we can't afford Ray. I could live with Collison, Fortson, Ridnour. This, of course, doesn't take into consideration how we will pull this off, cause in the NBA it is hard to take and not give equal value.
I'd guess he read that article then started this therad to act as though he has some sort of inside scoop.
wow there's 3 threads about this in the whole forum..this is getting confusing! anyways, okc is a great place to hold an nba franchise from what we've seen with the hornets.
Don't reply if you are not interested. I live in OKC and do business with several people interested inreturning a team to OKC after the Hornets leave. Would like me to discuss future potential development of the Rockets or keep complaining about the Rockets off-season moves like 80% of you folks that have joined this forum in the last 24 months?
If they're selling they'd still need a roster but a cheap one. They've mostly got manageable contracts, perhaps they'd move Rashard, but Rockets won't be in the running there. They'd save around 4M overall if they traded Earl Watson for Juwan. Rockets would get the defensive presence and 3P shooter at the point their current roster is lacking.
I would look into ridnour, lewis, collison, saer sene, watson and of course allen. Any one of those guys could help us at some point.
Theyll probably have a firesale once this becomes official. If this is anything like when the hornets left Charlotte, then nobody is going to support the sonics in their last year. Which of course means losing money if they dont shed some payroll.
THANK YOU! As you have stated, much more eloquently than I, the Rockets should be able to take advantage of this "fire-sale"!
Unless a team has cap space or expiring contracts there isn't much they can offer to reduce payroll, and the Rockets have neither. We have the trade exception and that's it, so we can take any player making around 4 million. They have players that would be nice to have but we really don't have any way of getting them.
Looks like they'll wait until the lease expires, and then move the team. Of course, they might squeeze a better deal on the arena. Remind anyone of a similar situation closer to home?
Well, I guess we could package Swift, a draft pick or two, and the incredible potential of Rudy Gay, for... oh, wait, that's right. We have zero assets now. But hey, we should have a nice view of the trades... from the sidelines.
