the only thing I didn't like about the trade was I felt the Rockets gave up too much for him especially when he was on his way out after feeling "disrespected"...Lamb especially.
I loved the trade at the time but I never thought he (or the team) would turn out to be this good this fast. Honestly, I was more worried that none of the surrounding talent would be good enough and he would pull a Melo after like two seasons. Even before Dwight, I still don't understand how Masai Ujiri won Exec of the Year over Morey last year. Maybe he got blackballed for the poison pill on Chicago and New York? CSB: When the trade got reported I had just walked out of a comedy show (Hannibal Burress, FWIW) at the Improv. I flipped out and hugged everyone I was with. Then, I spent the next two days waiting for the report that he'd actually signed the extension because I was so paranoid after the Gasol trade got cancelled.
I would have doubts at times, but would just remind myself that he's still very young. However, I didn't expect for him to be as big of a closer down the stretch. He's been the third beat player in the NBA this past few weeks.
Immediately after the trade I posted that the Rockets had just acquired the best SG in the NBA starting 2013-2014. I was a year to late in my prediction.
I'm trying to think of a historical comparison for James but I really can't come up with one. His game is quite unique. He's like Ginobili on mega steroids.
I found our at the half time period do a basketball game I was playing and was so excited that I completely forgot about it, I thought he would be a franchise man but this has exceed my expectations
I had the same feeling too. I said I loved the trade but still felt we overpaid. Looking back, I don't feel we overpaid a bit.
Lamb was and still is unproven. Harden is a legit star not even in his prime. You are seriously talking about overpaying?
Ginobili is one of my favorite players. What's awesome about Harden is he not only has Ginobili's finesse but also strength. And he seems to have more durability. Harden's been developing a variety of perimeter moves (step back) that will hopefully increase his longevity. This should prevent him from being DWade. This guy is probably the best shooting guard since Kobe (and has a shot for at least top 5 SG all time).
