I forgot to mention that the move to the AL also sapped my interest(which wasn't much to begin with at the time it occured). I'm still coming to terms with it since one of the reasons I love playoff baseball more than any other sport(yes, even the NBA) is the strategy involved and the DH detracts from that. The budding Rangers-Astros rivalry is certainly helping though.

Yeah, I was pissed about that at the time, and do still wish they were in the NL, but I'm 100% over it. Pennant races help, and I've fully embraced the hate for the Rangers and our bitter, bitter rivals the Seattle Mariners.

I think the Astros should have fought for the quasi-DH rule. They get to use it, their opponents don't. That would have been a good compromise.

I'm was a 2 then dropped to a 3 but it's not my fault really. It was much more difficult to follow the team when they suck (no national tv) in conjunction with no local tv. AL change had no impact, it was all about coverage or lack thereof.

2010 was the last year before the astros became a 100 loss team. I figured there was still some interest up until that point. Not everyone completely turned away immediately after the world series appearance. Even in 2008 there was some excitement when they nearly made the playoffs until the Bud Selig/Milwaukee Debacle.

I followed the organization more closely at that point. It was right before the time when twlkitlikeitis started posting intense minor league info that made this board a daily read. Series threads would have upwards to 30 posts, and the Comcast Sports Network was not D&D worthy yet.

This forum made that time for the Astros immensely more interesting. I don't know if I would have been as interested if it weren't for like minded Astro weirdos like y'all.

not gonna lie, my last season following the team was the first year crane bought them. Ii hated the move to the american league at first, and along with the csn debacle it made me lose intrest in the coming years. But this year i started following the team because i liked the approach the front office was taking with advanced stats and of course correa is so exciting to watch, in fact all the players on the team are so unique and i love their never say die attitude, they led the majors with the most runs scored after 7 innings... the game is never over with these guys.

I swore them off until they got Luhnow and then followed them loosely. Followed them game by game once they called up Springer.

Saying this team has unique players is an understatement.

A pair of serial bat flippers, grizzly adams, a white trash rockstar, dancing Springer, a goofy fat asian named "Hank", Mr. Perfect superplayer, and a Venezuelan midget. Combine that with the fact that the entire team has a "f**k it , I'm going deep" mentality.

It's the polar opposite of the Astros of Biggio and Bagwell. Maybe that's a good thing, maybe not, it depends on your personal taste, but it's certainly interesting.

When they were terrible I only following their minor league system and maybe attend a few mlb games per year. I don't see how anyone could watch those 100 loss teams on tv. It was un-watchable.

I have a slight dislike for the DH, but I completely loath the late starts for the in-division West Coast games.

First time I saw Colby Rasmus on TV this year, I instantly thought of this guy:

Kind of in between the last two. I never actually watched any games but I'd occassionally look at the standing and was aware of who was on the team, who they drafted, and would periodically check in on the minors to see how the prospects were doing.

And while I've kept up more this year and watched chunks of more games. Last night was the first full baseball game, start to finish, I've watched in years.

Definitely lost a lot of interest, would catch games on TV occasionally before the CSN debacle but it was impossible to be interested in a team that I knew was LONG way away from even remotely contending again.

I kept up with some of the callups when those happened (Castro, Wallace, etc.) with some interest but once the CSN thing happened it totally turned me off of the Astros.

    This.

It was interesting and refreshing to see the Astros organization clean house and admit they would be rebuilding from the ground up. I have always closely followed minor league baseball so seeing them draft and develop players was a treat.

Where would I be if I attended a couple games per season but never really followed them religiously? Don't know the players at first but kept up with the scores.

    I wanna say I'm in between 2 and 3.

I stopped watching most of the games when they moved to the American League and were clearly in Seventy Sixer tank mode. Still don't like the American League, but I am back watching all the games.
