I want Florida-TCU. Why? 1) Tim Tebow, whether you like it or not, is one of the best college QBs of our generation. I want to see him in the title game. Defending national champs, going for 3 of the last 4 BCS Titles. College football's school of the decade. 2) I want to bust up the BCS conference's grip - give me the underdog, TCU. I'd love to see them change the convention that the BCS conference are the only ones that play good football. Many have already recognized that very good football is played outside the "name conferences", and TCU playing well in this game would advance that point.
The worst scenario would be Texas loss to Nebraska, Florida or Alabama winning, then playing each other AGAIN in the BCS title game with the loser of the first game winning the second time.
I hate Texas but want to see Texas versus Florida. Tebow versus Colt. Imagine the hype. Bama-UF-UT would destroy TCU Cincy Boise etc etc . I dont want to see that disaster....
A national powerhouse in line to play for the BCS Championship with a running QB who draws comparisons to Jesus Christ? Florida 2009 or Texas 2005?
Meh. Neither is having close to the seasons they had last year. Tebow-Bradford last year was a much more intriguing matchup. McCoy-Tebow would have been cool last year too if UT had been given the chance.
If this happened, I'm not so sure Alabama doesn't leapfrog Cincinnati, Boise State, and Texas Christian to earn a spot in the title game.
Actually, I don't remember Vince getting as much love as Tebow until after he beat USC. IIRC, wasn't USC like the "Greatest Team in College Football History?" Also never remember anyone saying "If you are fortunate enough to spend five minutes around Tim Tebow, your life is better for it." - Thom Brenneman..LOL
Ideally, I just want TCU to play in the title game. I can't see it happening unless the bigger guys trip up, but that's what I want. This is the first time I've seen a mid-major that I think could play for a national championship and win. And I'm a Utah fan.
Cincy is overrated. Ohio State would destroy Cincy, so UT, Florida or Bama would win 100-0 against Cincy.
Yeah, i'm surprised a thread didn't pop up -but this one should work -- an Auburn win is the first big piece of possible BCS madness...
I would love to see Auburn win, then Bama beat Florida next week. But Bama is a tough team, and they look like they will win this one.
This has to be torture for TCU fans. This was the big win they needed to open up all sorts of possibilities. The other two - Cinci losing to Pitt, and Florida losing to Alabama - are very possible.
^ Looks like Auburn will need a miracle... i'm all for BCS madness, but thinking about it a little more - a big time game between Texas and Alabama or Florida will be a lot more fun than something weird like TCU v. Cinn.
I don't have the game on TV, but did Auburn just run 2 running plays in the last minute, with no timeouts??
