Agreed, this has the potential to have a Kansas State 1998 Alamo Bowl vibe to it. That said, the reality is that the Cotton Bowl is the highest point the Mizzou program has been at in decades... first New Year's Day bowl since 1970. So, I expect good attendance and there's definitely a reason for the team and fans to be excited for the game... it's a matter of whether Pinkel can bring it out.

Looks like these two games got flipped. OU vs. WVU and Kansas-VaTech are much more interesting matchups, I think, than vice-versa. OU-WVU is a great matchup.

LOL, that makes the BCS even more of a joke. The only reason to include Kansas over Missouri is to avoid a potential OU-Missouri third matchup. Missouri ended up with more fans at Arrowhead for a game that was KU's home game and 20 minutes from their campus... and when KU was 11-0, #2 in the nation and playing for No. 1!

Let's see here... Missouri is ranked higher than Kansas, beat them head-to-head, won the Big 12 North, seems likely to bring more fans, has bigger TV markets, and has more nationally-known players.

Makes a lot of sense. Thank you BCS.

Hey Azadre, Ohio St. is 0-8 vs. SEC in bowls. They must visit a lot of strip clubs.

It really should be LSU vs USC. Ohio St. is going to get rolled and Michigan will regret not signing Uncle Lester.

OU vs WVU is the second most exciting game. Followed by USC vs Ill.

    I'm pulling for WVU.

    That is all.

BTW we should have gone to the Gator bowl. Another freaking Holiday Bowl.

Mizzou was ranked higher than Kansas in both polls and 4 of the 6 computer polls.

Arizona State was ranked higher than Illinois in ALL polls.

    BCS still sucks.

And obviously, by extension, Mizzou was also ranked higher than Illinois in all polls AND beat them head-to-head. That said, I guess I can somewhat understand the tradition argument, even if it lacks logic.

What I can't understand is Kansas ahead of Mizzou. For on-field reasons and for revenue... I can't see one possible reason for that. All I can figure out is that maybe they're looking for added ratings if KU's 5'7, 460-pound ****** deve-clone (thought you'd enjoy that, moe) of a coach has a heart attack on the sidelines. Idiots.

    I'm pulling for the Warriors...

LSU...A two lose team getting beat by an upbeaten and a fluke team in Kentucky...And they still get a shot...That's BS...

Sux to be Mizzou...They had there shot...Hell, WV lost and they're still in...crazy...

THat's why there is a need for a playoff...

But WV won the Big East when they beat UConn last week. They were going to a BCS game no matter what.

Why the hell are people still arguing against a playoff system? Robert Johnson, an ESPN analyst, was just on saying that although D-II and D-III has this type of schedule, that D-I players could not last through a 16 game type season. WTF???

Yup - they did it. That's what caused the change to the rule a few years ago. The 6 BCS conferences created a system where their conference champions were guaranteed in, and it was virtually impossible for any non-BCS team to get in with only two at-large spots available.

Since the NCAA has anti-trust exemption, I believe Congress got involved or threatened to, and the BCS had to make changes to make everyone happy that more realistically allowed a non-BCS team in. Since then, non-BCS teams have crashed the party three times (Utah, Boise State, and now Hawaii). So far, they are 2-0 in those games. The BCS as a whole was pretty much a power grab by the big 6 conferences to make more money and split it between just themselves.
