Don't be so sensitive. I am intentionally trying to yank your chain... it looks like I hit a nerve. Honestly, if we were in a bar it would all be in good fun and I would be buying you a beer, no personal shots intended.

Yeah, looking at it today I was kind of a b!tch. Thing is, I know this board is mostly Horn fans and I have no problem with it, like I said I respect UT a lot. So I was trying to be real carefull and make my point without sounding like I was talking **** and when you came with the "thanks for playing" I guess it just hit a nerve. Sorry for being a Tebow.

Are there any Auburn fans on the board that can tell me if it is still possible to get a "Punt Bama Punt" t-shirt?

Wow, 1972 reference. I'm not sure if they have shirts but I've seen vintage "Punt, Bama, Punt" pins on Auburn fans during Iron bowl week.

I swear I have seen the t-shirt, but I cannot verify that, and even if I did, maybe it was made forever ago.

Can you buy the pins online anywhere?

Just did a quick search of places I've gotten Bama shirts at and found nothing.

I am already envisioning a 2009 version saying something like "Throw, Bama, Throw"

At the beginning of the year I thought Alabama was the best team in the nation.

The Crimson Tide are right where they are supposed to be....and waiting for them the Texas Longhorns.

Now I'm proud to say I'm a Houston Cougar and have been around for quite awhile. So,obviously there is a natural bias against UT.

But I've watched this season unfold and have tried to keep that out of my analysis here.

So.....The SEC has been the best conference in the nation for awhile..ergo the tougher schedule for the Tide. It's just a battle every week.
That said Alabama has flat out toyed with teams this year...as if bored at times. And when needed they've had to hit the gas once in awhile.
...while UT has played in the BIG 12 and it's been a down year at that.

I realize we have the top recruiting area in the nation. But for years UT has collected top recruits like baseball cards...and even with the one title I just don't see an efficient use of these guys.

That said Bama is loaded and has a great coach. (I know many will argue this point but I see Saban outcoaching Brown bigtime)
And.....again they figured to reach this point about now...on schedule ( n o pun intended)

Bama's GREAT defense should carry the day when mixed with a special running back AND a quarterback who unlike years back isn't the achilles heel.

At the end of the day I see this as the beginning of a long SEC reign...where they dominate the best conference in football for the next 5-7 years...minimum.
I'm really not trying as much to take away from UT (welll maybe alittle ;) )

but give props to the start of a dynasty.

With that kind of logic, I understand why you went to Cougar High.

I agree that SEC is probably the strongest in the country this year, but really it's hard to test that hypothesis given that their non-con schedule is super weak and loaded with FCS schools from the region -all premised on the assumption that the SEC is awesome.

Naturally, at the top they are the strongest with two undefeateds, after that the dropoff is pretty quick. LSU was a nice, back-half of the top 25 team, but not really that great this season.

Their dregs (vandy) and middle class (Tennessee) don't appear to be appreciably stronger than others' dregs and middle class.
