I don't think it's too far fetched. Landry Jones isn't much better and that's probably going to be their toughest game in the reg season.

This is how I see it.

You should always convince yourself that you're doing what you want to do in life - that you have some sort of control over it. And as a result, whatever you do, you do it with some sort of pride.

College isn't about your childhood affiliations, it's about you coming of age and becoming a man. And that means taking pride in what you do and put time into. Attending Baylor and stating another college football team is something "you" are a part of is a slap in the face to your dignity and everything you stand for. Remember, this isn't about being a fan or enjoying football. This is about we and us.

It's emo-ish pansy behavior, you essentially root for a mainstream team for the sole reason of relatability and being a part of something big that you aren't currently part of - which only decreases your perception of your current value. Using "we" and "us" while screaming profanities has overcompensation written all over it and that leads to questions about character.

You simply can't play the what-if game like that. If McCoy plays, Alabama likely doesn't go into the prevent offense for 2 quarters like they did tonight.

It's sports buddy. Get over it. No one here gives rats arse about your in depth analysis on something so freaking trivial.

I'm 26. Been a fan forever. Sue me.

kinda like UT never does the shuffle pass with colt? Kinda like the D would have got some rest had Colt played and not had a freshman leading them to 3 and outs for majority of the game?

Eh...goes both ways....the game is over, my buzz is gone, im tired. Congrats to Bama

Also, "What If" Ingram played the whole game instead of sitting on the sidelines with cramps? It goes both ways. The way he killed our D we could have been dominated if he played 4 quarters.

Alabama's offense is just not good. Look at some of other stinkers they had.

That was my point. I wasn't arguing that Bama would have definitely won even if McCoy played. I was arguing with the premise that Texas would have definitely won if he had played.

I think Bama is the better time, but the entire game would have played out differently. There's no way to know what would have happened.

UT also some awful offensive games, particularly against good defenses like OU and Nebraska. Who's to say that McCoy would have played better than Gilbert did, because he stunk in those two games.

    You can't be serious?

You have to at least acknowlegde that Colt wouldn't have gift wrapped 28 pts to Alabama.

Good thing Bama has a defense that wins games, especially a national title game.

And UT hasn't exactly had masterpieces this season either...

He threw 3 picks against Nebraska. Why is it not in the realm of possibility?

Okay but those were some inopportune turnovers tonight.

Colt came out sharp. I have no doubt in my mind that the senior QB would have had the better game.

But they weren't all Gilbert's fault. He threw some terrible passes, but his receivers completely abandoned him in the first half, the Pick-6 was a terrible playcalling decision combined with a dropped screen pass. The game-sealing fumble was a complete blind-side hit. The only really costly play that was completely Gilbert's fault was the INT that he threw into triple-coverage.

Again, I'm not saying that Texas would have won or lost, just saying that nobody knows what would have happened. You can't simply say that because Texas hung in there with Gilbert that they would have won with McCoy.

If McCoy's not injured, Texas wins. No doubt in my mind, but that's part of the game and you have to accept it as such.

Still, no asterisk for Alabama... their title is as legit as any in the BCS era.

I think the Texas D played stout tonight... they really only gave up 17 points and I'm not sure they give up that many if they aren't shell-shocked because of Colt's injury. However, they didn't create the turnovers they needed... and Gideon... bat the ball down... your interception costs Texas 10 yards.

Here's hoping some WR recruits can make a difference next year and the OL picks up a little... if so, I don't think this will be GG's last appearance in this game.

Just got home from the game. Surprisingly, I'm not too upset.

I actually was completely at peace with the loss until Saban decided to go for the go ahead score. That is something Mack would never do, and I was partially hoping Gilbert would come out and kneel the ball just to make a statement. Then, to see Ingram do the "Horns down" symbol then a throat slashing gesture was completely classless and unnecessary for a player who had such a good season, and frankly, has been the definition of classy to that point.

We watched Gilbert turn into a man tonight and I feel very good about our future with him.

Even with my sadness, I can honestly say I have never been more proud of this football team. Hook 'em.
