I don't think it does. I think it just shows how great Alabama's defense is that even though Nebraska has Suh, who we all agree is an absolute beast, Alabama still bests them in every stat. Defense isn't about a player, it's about 11 players.

Terrance Cody might have something to say about that.

But sometimes having a dominate player changes the complexion of the game. When a team has to change everything they do to account for a player, it makes a world of difference.

Suh is like Dieon Sanders in the way it changes how teams play.

Honestly, those stats dont mean much. If you take in account how much Nebraska's D has to stay on the field to account for their inept offensive, the stats may be heavily skewed in Nebraska's favor.

Cody is very good player, but Suh is arguably one of the best looking DT prospects in the last decade or two.

I'm not comparing Suh to anyone. He's a beast, a manchild, unstoppable and probably a good dancer. He'll probably go number one in the draft for good reason, he's a once in a decade type player. That said, he's one man on a unit of eleven. Alabamas eleven, overall and in my opinion(and we all have one), is better than Nebraskas eleven.

If you take in to account the fact that Nebraskas D has had to stay on the field longer than Alabamas(and I'll give you that) then I think you have to take into account the opposing teams offensive mindset as well. Against Alabama I've seen almost every offense they've played this year empty the playbook to try and move the ball against them and it almost every case it's failed. With Nebraska( and I'll admit I've ony seen a couple of thier games this year: Texas, Oklahoma and VT) I've seen the same thing over and over. Play it safe, play field position and don't take chances. I think those things kind of cancel each other out.

This is really one of those things that make for pretty good internet chatter, but really there is no way to settle it. Nebraskas D is great, Bamas D is great.

    Roll Tide!

Then maybe what you should be worried about is the fact that UT's defense is every bit as good as Bama's.

If you want to go by yards then UT gives up only 10 more yards per game than Bama and UT has the #1 rush defense in the Nation. I think we can both agree that UT's offense is better than Bama's.

I'm not worried about UT's defense being as good as Bama's because it's not.

I won't agree that Ut's offense is better than Bama's because I don't think it is. Is it more exciting? Yes. Exciting doesn't win championships though. Texas has played two top 20 Defenses(Nebraska and Oklahoma) and averaged 14.5 PPG on them. Alabama has played four top 20 defenses(Florida, Virginia Tech, South Carolina and Tennessee) and averaged 24.5 PPG.

Alabama's offense has proven itself against top level defenses. Texas's offense has proven to be lacking against top level defenses.

Bama's offense has proven itself against top defenses like Tennessee and Auburn right? See we can both play these little games.

Why do you think UT's defense is not as good as Bama's? Because it's convenient for you? The stats support UT not Bama. UT put up their defensive stats against better offenses in the Big 12 then what you have in the SEC.

Ut's defense has played 3 top 25 offenses (Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UTEP)
    A&M(5) scored 39 on you
Texas Tech(7) scored 24 on you
    UTEP(23) scored 7
    AVG 23.3
Bamas Defense has played 3 top 25 offenses( Florida, Arkansas, Auburn)
    Arkansas(14) scored 7 on us
    Auburn(21) scored 21 on us
    Florida(12) scored 13 on us
    AVG 13.6

Is that convienient for me, or is just proof that against top level offenses Alabama's defense has been better?

all this we scored ______ on ______ talk is pointless.

both teams have time to come up with gameplans and revise their respective teams for the final game

Yawn. Yawn again. College football is such a joke with their BCS BS. I know its hard to do with so many teams, but they have to find a way to make some sort of tournament out of it. One game isn't enough to determine a "champion".

Now that it looks like two undeafeated teams will be left standing, TCU and Bama will have to be co-champs.

Let me get this straight. Texas plays 2 teams with top 10 offenses and they put up 60 on you, Bama plays 2 just outside the top 10 in offense and they put 20 on us and that is somehow advantage Texas?

Also whats up with the "thanks for playing" BS. I've been pretty respectful in this thread and don't understand why we can't express our opinions on this without being dicks to each other. We've both been part of this board for close to a decade, we're both Rockets fans, let's be cool.

No they won't. TCU still has to beat Boise and even then, the winner of that game will have played a much, much weaker schedule. TCU barely beat Air Force and Clemson. Why do they get a pass for their poor games while Texas gets hammered?

I'm not saying they're a poor football team because they're not. But at the beginning of the year, everyone was hammering Texas' SOS and using it as proof as to why the Horns didn't belong in the Top 5. TCU's SOS is much lower than Texas'.

We can tall all the crap we want but this game will be decided on the field. I think it will be a fun and exciting game unlike last years game. Texas actually shows up for BCS bowl games unlike OU and the games are usually pretty close and exciting.

The Air Force game was in a blizzard and the Clemson game was on the road and it was pouring down rain...just gotta defend my Frogs

Still think UT deserves to go to the BCS title game over us...should be a great game

Have to agree with this... You have to throw out all those stats from the rest of the season because this game will be different in itself. It's a huge stage for both teams... anything can happen out there.
