its a movie theater that serves food/drinks. I imagine it will cost something.

I've never watched a game there but I know some people enjoy it

Helping fuel the "Texas is the underdog that everybody is picking to lose" fire...Florida is ANNIHILATING Cincinnati, and Alabama easily handled Florida. Now, everyone will be wondering how good Alabama really is and even lessening Texas' chances.

I still say Texas wins by 3-10 points. It will be close, but Texas will take it.

Nebraska manhandled Arizona. Florida manhandled Cincinnati. Should be a good championship game.

What? Both of those places are bars that let people under 21 in.......otherwise most bars downtown will not......

And FYI....Alamo Drafthouse is a movie theater not a bar....

I think there are a few other issues though with the Cinci collapse and the Gators stomping them. On one hand you have a team whose coach is abadoning them to go coach another program and on the other hand you have a coach who is having health problems and an emotional star player. So you have one team that is likely feeling betrayed by its coach and another team trying to honor theirs.

    Crow City, USA. Population: me

I really wasn't expecting this. Everybody knew Cincy's defense was atrocious but I suppose I grossly overestimated their offense. I really thought their offense was good enough to put big points/yardage against anybody. So much for that idea.....

Bad day for the Big East, needless to say.

Please be more specific on what years you are refering to and I'd be happy to discuss this with you.

I assume you know that national titles pre 1974 were awarded before bowl games and that the bowls themselves were little more than exhibitions. I also assume you know that some national title teams pre 1974 didn't feel the need to go to a bowl game they meant so little. I assume you know these things because if you didn't that means you're just trolling and you aren't a troll are you?

PS would you like to talk about UT's 1970 championship claim?

How about 1941, when they finished 9-2, ranked #20 in the AP poll, but claimed themselves national champions because they were picked by the Football Thesaurus?

Just as a comparative example, OU has 7 national titles; using the Alabama method of using obscure polls to win national titles, they'd have 17.

1941 was horse****, no argument here. I don't know why we claim it when there are other years we have a much more valid claim that we don't. Now that I've given you 41, any other's?

I was asking for a year we retroactively claimed a title he didn't think we deserved.

Alabama was not the national champion according to the Dickinson system, apparently the most widely recognized measure, in 1926, 1930 or 1934.

They should have suited up Kenyon Martin and made Bob Huggins the D-Coordinator

1925 - From Houlgate (system was created in 1927) and Helms Athletic Foundation (founded in 1941!)

1926 - Again from the Helms Athletic Foundation, founded in 1941

There may be more, I'm not sure. I also like how Alabama claims 1978, when USC not only had a better record but actually beat them that year!

Honestly, most of those pre-war polls should be pretty much thrown out. Most of the voters never even saw (or hear) highlights of the teams they were voting on, the technology didn't exist. That's how you end up with 4 or 5 teams claiming it in a year.

I hope recievers like Williams, Kirkendol and Shipley will help Colt out in this game.... Can't have a performance like Texas did against Nebraska, it'll be hard to pull out a victory.

It couldn't have hurt! What's James "The Flight" White up to these days? Ruben Patterson? Danny Fortson? Hell, I bet even Nick "The Quick" could have covered some of those Florida guys better and he's 40+ years old with no cartilage in his knees!

Ahhhh, oh well. Sometimes when you're wrong you're dead wrong.

Yes, we were picked retroactively by both the Houlgate and HAF...
10-0 Alabama was also crowned by :
    Billingsley Report
    Boand System
    College Football Researchers Association
    National Championship Foundation
    Poling System
    Saragin System

Two systems picked 8-0 Dartmouth and 1 picked 7-1 Michigan. Is this title BS? NO

9-0-1 Alabama is picked by a total of 5 services
9-0 Lafayette is picked by 1
7-1 Michigan is picked by 1
9-0-1 Navy is picked by 2
10-0-1 Stanford is picked by 4

    Is this title BS? NO

In 1978 Alabama was awarded, among others, the AP title. We shouldn't claim an AP title? Are you kidding me? Name me one other school to be awarded the AP title and not claim it.

No, I didn't go to Alabama. I'm actually from houston but met a girl from here and relocated to Gardendale, AL(about 10 miles north of B'ham) about 7 years ago. Never really followed college football that much before then(big time NFL fan) but absolutely fell in love with UA. Spent the last several years totaly obsessed with Alabama and the history of college football in general.
