I am just starting to really grasp the full extent of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas flushing all PPO plans (I thought it was just for singles, nope, it's for us married folks, too). Have to list a primary physician. Bad enough the doctor I saw every six months isn't on the list because she's a specialist. They don't even have my former chickens**t semi-worthless didn't-even-diagnose-me-correctly doctor on their HMO list for me to list as a primary. Now I have to start aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall over with a new doctor I never met. FUN! Moved a medication I need from Tier III to Tier F***ing IV. Same medication, new prison-raping price. Can't use Walgreens Pharmacy, have to use "Preferred Pharmacies" (re: the pharmacies that handed the biggest wad of bribe free-junket-to-Tahiti money under the table). Not that going to CVS is a big deal, but I've gone to Walgreens for years. I don't suppose any of you married folk who have to pay for your own insurance (for whatever reason, self-employed, etc.) found yourselves in the same situation but found another company offering good PPO plans?
I'm an individual but there are no PPOs to be had for individuals. I'm switching from BCBSTX to Humana so I can keep my primary care physician.
There are actually two ppos in Houston for 2016. Humana has one that will be avilable and the other is memorial health plan. Email me through the board for details
