He got banned I guess for starting the TJ Thead, which was maybe viewed as a personal attack. The admins can only stand so much nomar :)

I think I remember a thread who'se title made it clear it was intended to insult T_J, but I never read it, and didn't register who posted it. Was that the one?

Is there a rule about starting threads for the purpose of insulting a particular poster? If so, how did it come about?

I have no idea, all i know is that Nomar was put on a very short leash when he was again allowed back on the BBS and he apparently (although not suprisingly) couldn't resist crossing the line again. I really have no idea if it was the TJ Thread or not, maybe it was something else or a culmination of things he'd done... but i do know that he hasn't been able to access the board since he posted that thread.

Bummer. Hate to lose such a huge Blade Runner fan, even if his views on other movies often seemed somewhat demented, outrageous or (gasp!) disagreed with my own. I tried to calm him down on occasion. (sigh) Perhaps he'll be back someday. :(

I think no. Someone did that to me and they were never banned.

I thought it was funny...never saw the actual site the thread was referring to, though. It was a bit of an invasion of privacy, for sure, but...made me laugh...

Doesn't change the fact he was trying to embarass me.

I may have vaguely been trying to make this point, in my shuffling along, not rally thinking, insecure way...

Yes, but it's already a long time ago...and you know...sometimes, a chance to do something funny is too good to pass up...you could let that one go, no? Isn't it like more than a year ago that that thread was posted?

Bill Hicks on people telling him to let go of the JFK assassination:

"Well, as long as we're talking shelf life, don't bring up Jesus to me."

"But you know Jesus died for your sins, Bill..."

"It was a long time ago, let it go."

Coma came through for me. Amazing follow-through. First-class guy I'm very glad I met.

There's a lot of great guys I've met here. HP is a great guy. Smeg, R2K, codell - all those in the group I regularly disagree with about Cuttino! Nevertheless generous and great people. The people here are smart and it's a good reference. If you can hold your own, keep posting under fire and offer something of value to the forum, chances are you're a pretty good guy.

    CASE CLOSED.

The person who started that thread gets away with more insults and bad behavior than Dimsie, Elvis, and Nomar added together and then cubed.

But we all need a villain.

I'm continually amazed at how many good samaritans there have been on this board. Lots of computer advise (buncha techies!), incredible compassion when needed (I'll never forget you guys for that), and offers of basketball tickets, new years eve parties, bball games, barbeques, you name it.

Plus you guys keep an old codger like myself up on the latest hot cars, music, and chicks.

And of course, clutch and the crew do an incredible job. As do the play by play guys.

I want to thanks the computer geeks. I haven't had a serious, three mile island with my computer yet.

I want to thank the car salesmen.

I want to thank all those guys that gave me advice on being a criminal in Bellaire, when I got that ticket, and I still have a Warrent on my ass.

I think everybody needs to thank me for not embarassing them, and making them look half decent at the pick up games.
