Thanks for the response. I hope the BBS gets something like this, whatever Clutch thinks would work best, of course.
Is an app really necessary? Some guy on NeoGaf made a webapp for the forums and it is awesome, no need to download anything. http://secondapps.com/neogaf/ If you try using it on a computer it won't have the formatting, but I use it on Safari for iPhone all the time and it works well.
So you want Clutch to create a whole new forum for phone use? Even if he creates a phone friendly theme, you would still have to toggle between themes when going from phone to computer. This is a few lines of code for the forum owner and a simple app download.
My birthday's tomorrow and my wife has asked me if I'd like the $499 iPad. Should I get it? My problem would be solved! At least where I have WiFi.
Can you put the iPad in your jacket's inside pocket like Colbert? If you can, it's a winner, sir. Happy early Replicant Birthday, sir.
Hey, another GAFer... Worlds colliding again. I've been using that since it went up, and it works just fine for Android as well. It's pretty awesome, and GAF and CF.net run on the same BBS software (although, different versions) It would be pretty nice to see if the code could be ported over easily between the two forums. Maybe it's time to send an email to ckohler to see if he'd be willing to give up the code, or maybe modify it to work with ClutchFans, to someone willing to host everything.
Well, I hope something comes out of it. I can understand why he might not want to run this as it does seem to cut out the ad server and that does take out of revenue. I know this stuff is not free. Whatever you decide Clutch.
Thanks, never knew about mobile GAF. I just tried it and it works great. I think I prefer it over tapatalk, but if nobody's willing to make a mobile site I think the tapatalk plug-in would be the simplest option.
Why don't you just set up a direct link to the bbs on your home screen, that's what I did with my HTC HD 7, it works great and is very easy to view
Yeah I have it bookmarked in my phone. I just really like the way tapatalk works. Specifically the xda developers app for android. You'd be able to bookmark threads, subforums, etc,
FWIW, I asked the tapatalk guy about this a few months ago and he said either the BBS software or the version is not compatible with tapatalk. I don't know if that's cahnged now. Email him through the market, can't hurt to ask again. The funny thing is he's a bit of a Rocket fan btw.
^ WTH, man...? I thought Falcons Talon had returned when I saw the thread title and his name under it.
If we get enough funding, or if a comp sci major wants to kick start a beta, can we get this thing going please! Tired of going through my web browser
