McClard's BBQ sauce is really good.

No "This is Texas. You don't need sauce." comments yet?

You'll have to ask somebody else about the chicken, because I rarely eat bbq chicken. I love smoked chicken, but never really put sauce on it.

As for the sweetness, yes, Bone Suckin' Sauce is very sweet. So is Sweet Baby Ray's. If you're not into sweet sauces, you probably want to stay away from those. But I can't tell what you think is "too sweet", so...

Check out this website and take the reviews with a grain of salt because everybody's tastes are different, but it's interesting reading, I guess :

Somebody bought me some of this stuff once and it tasted like spaghetti sauce. McClard's is one of Arkansas' favorite BBQ joints, but that sauce definitely didn't do it for me. But then everybody's tastes are different.

You probably mean "hickory and brown sugar", right? Their honey sauce is one of my faves.

It is a thin sauce, with a fair amount of vinegar. It is a very different sauce than the molasses-based sauces, that's for sure. I've never tasted anything like it before.
