The Characters are great, its more dry than anything though. The jokes themselves are less funny than the characters. I find British Humor to be boring at times, but when done right it is quite hilarious.
Honestly, that's pretty much most Sitcoms. You could see the same thing in Three's Company and it was still hilarious.
Great show. Im glad they never adopted it for the U.S., it wouldve completely ruined it for me. Shame its only a few episodes per season. All three "seasons" are on netflix. If you guys check it out make sure to watch from season two. That's where it really picked up.
Sorry for the double post. But thanks to the OP, I would have been missing out if I had never heard of this show.
my favorite episode is Season 2's premiere The Work Outing. I laughed so much my cheeks hurt. edit: i realized this an "old" thread. reading page 1 after posting the above, i see alot of people thought the same thing. that eposide is classic.
Sorry to bump but just started watching this on Netflix streaming and I'm only 3 episodes in. The wife didn't much care for it after first episode, still doesn't get it. It's a bit more broad than I expected but there are lines and situation throughout that seriously make me bust out laughing. Gonna try and see if I can get the wife onboard with it.
Seriously? I got my wife and sister completely hooked. We constantly drop little IT Crowd lines. Sounds like you need to give her the Clockwork Orange treatment. Don't for get the eyedrops!
We watched the first couple of episodes and she's just not getting into for some reason, I might just force feed it to her, sounds like the first episde of Series 2 could win her over.
the work outing is so f'n epic seriously then last season's countdown episode was another epic one whenever my best friends and i get breakfast on the weekends we always greet each other by saying, "Good morning thats a nice tnetennba"
I agree it is on the broad side, and the first episode almost turned me off. The closing credits of them in awkward pictures with prostitutes at the fair convinced me to try one more episode. Now I'm half-way through rewatching the entire series again. Work Outing literally made me cry for 5 minutes. I'll stand in line at the grocery and randomly think of the scene of Jen turning to see Moss in a bartender outfit and try not to LOL out of nowhere like a lunatic in public. I also agree the Windows/8+ episode is up there. I'm hooked on Peep Show as well.
From Wikipedia: A fifth series has been commissioned for 2011. In May 2011 Graham Linehan was quoted as saying that he intended the fifth series to be the last as he wanted "one more series to really say goodbye to the characters and the fans" and did not want it to become "a zombie series where the show is dead but its body is still moving around."
weird to see that chris o'dowd has made the move to films in a supporting male in romantic comedy role... didn't see that coming.
The pilot episode when she's yelling at them to "get in there, and work on something, related to comm-puters." The waterpark fire diagram was the best crafted joke I'd ever seen. "And you know why it rots? Because of allllll the water."
