    Stumbled on this article on the BBC, certain Indian textbooks have some very very interesting lessons.

    Some of the gems:

    - women entering into the workforce is the cause of the rising unemployment rate in India

    - People who eat meat "easily cheat, tell lies, forget promises, are dishonest and tell bad words, steal, fight and turn to violence and commit sex crimes"

    - Japan nuked US in WW2

    - The Indian map should include ‘countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Burma’ (as it’s all a) ‘part of Akhand Bharat… Undivided India is the truth, divided India is a lie. Division of India is unnatural and it can be united again

    - Pakistan is called 'Islamic Islamabad" and it's capital is called 'Khyber Ghat' someone in the Hindukush mountains

    - A donkey is like a housewife… It has to toil all day, and, like her, may even have to give up food and water. In fact, the donkey is a shade better… for while the housewife may sometimes complain and walk off to her parents’ home, you’ll never catch the donkey being disloyal to his master.

    - Certain textbooks teaching English have stories such as “The pilot and the Indian together thrashed the negro and tied him up with rope. Like a tied buffalo, he frantically tried to escape but could not. The plane landed safely in Chicago. The negro was a serious criminal…and this brave Indian was an employee of Air India”, it explained. "

    What's wrong with this one?:confused::p

    Meh it's no worse than the brain washing intolerance christian textbooks such as A Beka and Bob Jones teach here in the states:

    http://www.rethinkingschools.org/special_reports/voucher_report/v_into162.shtml

    Of course these aren't government issued and compulsory but there are hundreds of thousands of kids subjected to this drivel unfortunately....

    This is true.

    But it's also true of people who don't eat meat

    Not true. People who eat meat tend to more aggressive. Just look at America and the rampant violence. People in America eat a lot of meat and are thus more aggressive leading to rampant violence.

    Don't know how they measure unemployment, but it probably isn't much different from US methodologies. People aren't counted in the calculation if they aren't trying to find work. So people going from not trying to work to trying to work is indeed going to increase the unemployment rate.

    And it wouldn't be at all surprising if women entered the economy faster than the economy was able to provide jobs to be filled.

    I'm not sure. Maybe they enter as jobs come available. Like with immigrants
