I've seen rumors that they really like UT TE coach Jeff Traylor, but that he doesn't want to get into that mess.
Hard to believe Bennett wasn't part of the problem but wonder what alternatives they have at this point.
RB Kameron Martin has asked to be released from his letter of intent to enroll this fall. I hope he has a good tattoo artist on retainer... Many of the other commits have tweeted support for the program.

Jason Higdon of scout posted that at least 6 kids have asked to be released. Apparently one has already started visiting other schools.
If that were true, then that would be a NCAA violation. I'm not sure Baylor could release these kids anyway after they have signed without the NCAA granting some special waiver. If a player transfers before finishing an academic year, they could lose 2 years of eligibility (only sit out one).
If this is not equally enforced across the board, then the fallout from Baylor will not effect any real change in campuses and programs across the country. It will be like Penn State again where the punishment there obviously didn't act as a deterrent from other programs putting football above everything else. Besides this, I still can't believe Notre Dame has skated on by with just a payout from the incident a few years ago killing a student because Brian Kelly was insisting on taping an outdoor practice with an approaching thunderstorm.
They would absolutely grant waivers and not make anyone sit. The kicker from penn St transferred to Texas and didn't sit.
Except none of these kids have officially enrolled yet. BU could simply release them from their LOI and the kids would be free to enroll at any school they choose. Texas did something similar with a kid last summer and he went to OU. As far as the kid already visiting schools, no different than a kid going on summer vacation (except it's to Norman and Stillwater). For those that have enrolled, the NCAA could grant them a special waiver where they wouldnt have to sit like they did for PSU.
The NCAA has to grant that release and waiver, not Baylor as they don't make the transfer rules. Also, if you sign a NLI, you are bound to the school you signed with and cannot be recruited by any other school nor take visits after the NLI has been signed and processed. The NLI is a binding agreement for one year unless the NCAA grants a release which can only be done by mutual agreement with the parties involved with that agreement. If a player doesn't want to play for Baylor but is not given an unconditional release from the NLI, he can't go enroll in another institution unless it's a JC and then they have to graduate from that JC. If a player is released, he's not supposed to be allowed to then sign another NLI for a full academic year. The transfers the NCAA allowed were outside their normal transfer rules. All of the information is on the NLI website so that guy from Scout is wrong or is broadcasting a NCAA violation.
Exactly BU can grant an unconditional release and the player would be allowed to go where they want, the NCAA is not going to stop them. BU does not have to grant one and they would be subject to the transfer rules like you said but don't see this happening. The kid can also appeal this if they are denied by BU. And these transfers would likely be outside the normal transfer rules as well.
Baylor has a good medical program. I hope my son gets a scholarship here and plays football here or just flat out gets accepted. Still don't know what's going on here.
Baylor lost two more recruits tonight, WR Hezekiah Jones from Stafford and S Donovan Stiner. I believe they are down to just QB Kellen Mond in the 2017 class, but he might leave as well.
At the moment, the 2016 class is way more important. A couolenkf 4 star recruits have said they're not going anywhere atm. Guys like Dickson and Zach Smith enrolled in January so they should be solid but things are fluid. Those guys stay and no major sanctions like a postseason ban and Baylor will come out of this better. There's plenty of time to get 2017 in order. Texas goes 5-7, 6-6 again and that won't help them and A&M could be in a mess with Sumlin fired. The main player to watch is Stidham. Smith will prove to be a very important recruit long term if Stidham decides to transfer.
