But they put a sign up...

    http://sportsday.dallasnews.com/col...s-real-men-respect-women-signs-practice-field

In all seriousness, this is sickening. Briles' quote in the article pretty much sums up Baylors lack of accountability on this. Bringing in Ukwuachu and then saying it's about awareness is horrible.

Just as I am typing this, I read that Shawn Oakman was just arrested for sexual assault. Unbelievable.

Looks like Oakman is getting arrested. Baylor is going to have to reevaluate the type of athlete they recruit.

The total is now 8 rape victims in terms of arrests. We'll see if he is convicted like the other two players. I stand by my call that Baylor will be in ncaa sanctions in 2 years.

I believe all players were transfers.

They need to stop letting in troubled transfers. Their own recruits seem to be okay. The season can't start enough. It's gonna be a fun one.

I know a cousin of trendavian dickson pretty well. He was telling me the Seth Russell looked really good in spring practices and KD Cannon looks ready to be a WR1. Can't wait!

Do you not see how much bigger the problem is? Women being turned away by the university when they say they were raped by other students. The athletic programing knowing of multiple rape accusations against players and not doing anything?

The AD is going to get fired or "resign" by this time next year or earlier if any allegations against Oakman from his time at Baylor come out.

Oakman already graduated and is no longer in the program. If he is found guilty he will go to prison. Not sure what you expect Baylor/ Briles to do. You can't babysit a guy at 2 in the morning.

Maybe we shouldn't give 2nd chances to guys that steal sandwiches?

Keep making excuses. You'll need the delusions to entertain yourself when the program is ruled ineligible for bowl games in two years.

Lol. You just cited an article where the player may now sue the university because the university kicked him out.

She didn't press charges and they still expelled him. Look it's easy to second guess and criticize the way Baylor handles these situations when the don't meet your subjective standards. If you want to cry about the 2 yrs you can but eventually they did what was right.

The point was that Baylor was notified by the Police of the claim of the sexual assault claim and did not investigate it which is something they were required to do. They started investigating 2 years later when the woman came to them directly and they found enough reason to expel him which should have been done two years previous.

Title 9 is not subjective it is a law that Baylor broke if you believe the Waco police department's claim that they notified the school of the assault report. They let a guy walk around their campus for 2 years that they later deemed at fault for a sexual crime. You know who cried? The 8 freaking women (9 including this one) that were raped by Baylor football players. How the **** do you not understand how MASSIVE a deal this is. What if a girl you cared about was raped by someone that the university knew raped 5 other women?

Man I cannot believe you are defending the university. You should have protested the vigil held outside the president's house. Time will tell and I'll admit I'm wrong if there were no penalization of the program but it's clear here that the fans here reflect the standard and expectations that the university holds for sexual mis conduct. Time will tell but Baylor will have a massive PR nightmare if heads don't roll on such a massive institutional failure.

Is this at all surprising? I'll say again that this program will be sanctioned in 2 years and the AD will be fired or "step down." Cue Baylor fans to accuse me of just talking about Baylor because I'm very scared of their success and cue their attempts to change the subject to how excited they are for the new season. The type of response I've heard on the radio from Baylor fans, seen on their fan sites and seen from posters here has made me lose a tremendous amount of respect for them and the program. I'm sorry but somethings are more important than football and I would say the same thing if it was Texas. That's probably because Texas treats sexual assault much differently. Every single complaint ushers an investigation by the university. This atmosphere of intolerance to sexual assaults is bred into freshman as soon as they step on campus in the summer. Perhaps the Baylor fans are victims of their universities own policies and perspectives toward assault. This is Penn St indifference.

EDIT: Sorry to lump all Baylor Fans into 1 group. It's not everyone on this board and not every Baylor football fan. I'm sure many of the people who participated in the candle light vigil outside the President's house were football fans.

Disgusting. Even more disgusting since Baylor is a Baptist school - they should have higher standards.

Not me. If this evidence bears out in court, I say throw the ones in jail where you can and fire the rest.

I'm sorry for that. I will edit my post.

Also, the reporter who is coming out with this works at Rivals. I don't know what kind of clout he has and how good his sources are but he was the one that posted the police report. Still, getting a police report is a lot different from alleging that Baylor officials knew about the assaults. I mean I would not be surprised however there is no evidence of it as of yet. He says, "Source who tipped me off to the new Oakman incident says BU knew and did nothing. Review of emails will show proof per source " So I suppose we have to reserve judgement until there is a little more proof.
