Probably, he wanted to be done with the process as quickly as possible so that he'd have a chance to fulfill his contract with the Italian team. He has a right to a speedy trial. Plus, he pled guilty which cuts out a lot of BS. Hopefully, the Italians will let him come over, even though he'll be showing up just when their season is actually starting.
