Just got my nostromo. I've always used the regular keyboard but I thought I'd try and improve my gaming a bit. Don't know if that's possible for me since I suck so bad, but if you need another squad mate add me to your friends list. ELCAPITRAN Ever since playing BF2 I don't get a lot of kills but I'm more than happy to repair supply ammo or heal and revive. I'm the ultimate Battier!
Can anyone recommend a site that covers the different classes and weapons and add-ons? Like a guide I suppose? I don't have time to play with all of the weapons, the in-game descriptions are lacking... where can I get some solid info to look over? The pros and cons of each weapon and add-on.
Are you an accurate shooters? I use the F2000 with reflex rds scope, foregrip, and suppressor which improve my kdr tremendously. I heard the scar h is op in this game. So you might want to try that with the perks I suggested for the f2000 If not go with support. The m249 with reflex scope, bypod and suppressor. To me suppressor is a must have perks if you like to flank ninja style. You can kill without being seen on the mini map. Its a silencer which make sense because anyone around the corner can be aware of you firing any weapon without it. The reflex rds scope is your best scope for medium and close range combat. The cobra one with the red T sucks and all those 4x or acog takes forever to zoom in at your target.
I recommend playing tdm to lvl up faster and get a better feel with your main guns. It also help you take down the enemy on one one situation
I'm using the Scar with a holographic scope right now. Its not just about trying to find a go-to setup, I'd simply like to know what else is out there in case someday I want to try out Recon.
+1 for the SCAR. Its like a 4-shot kill at close. Gotta feather tap that trigger, though. It's always had bad recoil, even in BFBC2.
For BFBC2 there was a guy that looked at the game code and was able to figure out exact weapon stats in terms of damage, range, muzzle drift, etc. I don't think anybody has been able or willing to do that sort of thing for this game yet. So all we really have is the official blog guide: http://bf3blog.com/battlefield-3-weapons/ I'm still working on unlocking everything, so I really can't tell you what's best. But I can give some info: -For Assault, the M416 is a damn sight better than either of the starting guns, especially because it has far less muzzle drift and is thus easier to hit with. -For Support, the M249 is the most accurate gun for sustained fire as far as I can tell, although the M240 and PKP have more power. Whatever gun you use, just make use of the bipod. And take the extended mag when you get it. -Engineer, yeah the SCAR is nice... low ammo count, and a bit hard to control, but great power on it. -Recon... I've only unlocked one of the bolt-action guns so far, so I've been using the semi-auto ones. With these I usually don't go for head shots, I just rapid-fire with them at the body, and I've done quite well. The SKS is fun because it actually has a 20-round magazine... you can use it sort of like a powerful single-shot assault rifle... take off the 7x scope and move in a little closer. But it's really to each his own. I think they were trying to design it so that every gun had some redeeming qualities. I've just been using each new gun as it gets unlocked so I can have at least a few attachments for everything.
