NVidia Geforce 3 or 4 is what you should get.

You may be interested in a GeForce4 TI4200. They have them listed at pricewatch for as low as $119 but I think that is an off-off brand.

Dude, you gotta jump out of the jeep before impact!

Someone kamikazied me with a plane yesterday. Overkill taken to the nth level. (And to think, it's my signature move, too!)

Thanks guys, the video card is in the mail, and I should be joining you all in a light hearted game of "Kill the other dudes" in no time at all.

Now I know I am a complete idiot... I just figured out that you could choose different classes(Duuuuhhhhh... I have only been playing the thing for 3 days.) I must try being an engineer and planting an explosive pack in a jeep so that I can detonate it on impact :).

edit: YEah I couldn't even spell idiot correctly...[IMG]

Guys, do a search on Kazaa for "Battlefield" and see if you can find a movie on there named "Battlefield 1942 fun movie" or something of that nature. It is clips of the game with some rap song playing in the background. The hilarious thing is that all the soldiers on the screen are constantly looking up and then down so that, from the outside, it looks like they are head-banging. :D Funny stuff.

How do you type a message while playing? I tried to answer you yesterday Sonny when you asked if any cc.net players were on board. I just settle for the ROGER THAT over and over.

"K" is for say to all
    "L" is for teamsay

I also reset the server to be for the DEMO ONLY, at least until more people have the full version.

I really could use some of you testing out our server to see if we have this "getting booted" problem licked.

    216.201.182.118:14567 or Fever Pitch Studios.

    Thx,

    DD

Use L and K. I forget which one is which. One sends to all. one sends to allies. It will say on the screen which one does which though

If anyone's interested, then I found the official minimum requirements from their site. The other site I got the info from ARE DAMN FRICKKING LYING SCUMBAGS!!!

Windows® XP, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows 98, (Windows NT and 95 are not supported)
    500 MHz Intel® Pentium® or AMD Athlon™ processor
    128 MB RAM

What game requires 256 meg anyway? I should have known better than to believe that.

The info you found before was probably the "recommended setup" and not the "minimum requirements."

I just bought the full version! It's installing now! Can't wait to play with a sub or Superfortress!!!!! I'm giddy as a schoolgirl! :D

Edit: I just watched the trailer, and it gave me goosebumps. When you buy the game you'll have to download the patch (the same patch as you get for the demo). The thing has 2 CD's for a 1st person shooter! I really really really wanna play the Midway and Normandy maps.....*wrings hands and starts sweating* .... only 17 more min until patch download is ready. I think I'm addicted.

    From a readme.txt file from FilePlanet.com,

    System Requirements
    ===================

    Minimum:

    800 MHz CPU
    256 Megabytes of RAM
3D accelerated GeForce 32 MB or equivalent with HTL
    (Hardware Transform & Lightning) and 24-bit z-buffer
400 MB of free hard drive space
    16X Speed CD-ROM/DVD-ROM
    MS compatible mouse
    DirectX 8 Compatible Sound Card

    Required Operating Systems:

Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP or Windows 2000. Note that Windows 95 is not supported.

GeForce compatible cards will be supported and should work. If you do have such a card and experience problems please report type of card and drivers used.

These are known to have issues:
    ------------------------------------------------------------------

    3dfx Voodoo 5 5500 AGP 64MB 3dfx Voodoo 5

    3dfx Voodoo 5 5500 PCI 64MB 3dfx Voodoo 5

ATI Radeon AGP 64MB ATI Radeon

ATI Radeon AGP 32MB ATI Radeon

ATI Radeon 7500 AGP 64MB ATI Radeon 7500

    Matrox Millennium G450 AGP 32MB Matrox G450

    Matrox Millennium G550 AGP 32MB Matrox G550

    S3 Savage 2000 AGP 32MB S3 Savage 2000

    SiS 315 AGP 32MB SiS 315

Trident Blade XP AGP 32MB Trident Blade T64

I think it was a botched copy and paste by FilePlanet. On the BattleField 1942 site, it is listed and labeled correctly(if it is correct...I don't rightly know until I try it).

Serves me right...always back up one source with another...especially Internet sources. Oh well...at least I didn't buy another 128 meg of memory for nothing. I know it would help but the game will still function with 128.

I just really didn't want to break down and buy more memory :D.

I think it is a bug in the DEMO that hopefully is fixed in the final version, so for now, the server is FINAL VERSION only.

That way, I can test this theory from home.

By the way, Omaha Beach, Stalingrad, Kursk, Market Garden....oh baby, this game rocks.
