Hey, Manny, I know this wasn't your idea, but I still gotta say this is the coolest thread idea ever, without a doubt. So, thanks to you and the mystery poster.

I think Stone Temple Pilots is the most underrated band of all time. One of the best voices ever in Scott Weiland (2nd best in my opinion, behind Robert Plant). Dan DeLeo has produced some really tight, hard sounding riffs. The other 2 guys are solid. So, I REALLLLLLLY hope that they can upset ZZ Top (which I think it'd be an upset if ZZ Top won). It will be a travesty, a sham, and a mockery if STP loses in the first round; it'll be a trave-sham-ockery!

Also, a lot of my favorite bands are lower seeds, so I'm gonna be real pissed off and possibly b****ing about the unfortunate outcomes.

For example, Green Day - it's really unfortunate that they're matched up with Queen. Judging from the recent thread, there's a lot of Queen support around here which is very dissapointing to me. I'd put GD as 2nd most underrated band.

VOTE STP AND GREEN DAY! YEAH!

One gripe, what the hell is Tom Petty doing at #3. I like em, but man. Seriously, that makes no sense to me, but that's just me, I guess.

By the way. I really like both Live and Incubus. Incubus would be top 15 of mine, and Live probably top 20. Unfortunately, I'm gonna have to give Live the axe.

    Incubus!

EDIT: That was 5 minutes before the deadline, right, Manny?

I'm sure Manny will provide details and instructions.

But from what I understand. We'll all vote on the first round. After that manny will tabulate and post the second round to vote on and so on until a champ is declared.

Yes. The play-in game has to be announced before we're supposed to vote on the bracket. So who knows whether or not your brackets will count now. :D

    That's what I thought, too.

I think it's safe to say Live won, though. :(

Okay sorry for getting delayed here. Live beats Incubus to win the play-in game. I will be putting up half of the first round bracket within 10 minutes.

You act like this is rocket science. It isn't. Just vote on the band you think is better.

Well is it the whole bracket or not? It would be easy to tell if everyone was doing the same thing.

You never gave any instructions even after people asked, crap music king.

Well if SOME people would read the whole damn thread then maybe it would be clearer, now, wouldn't it?

Look at the first page of this thread, MEOWGI:

Being lazy is no excuse for ignorance here. Also, spare me the drama of being pissed that Band "XYZ" of yours is not in it or is not such and such seed. The whole thing is supposed to be for fun, but people like you ruin it with your whining and b****ing. If you don't agree with the choices, that is fine. But we don't need to hear it more than once. Just don't participate if you are that upset about it - no one is holding a gun to your head.

And I will go ahead and say this now - I don't want to hear any more whining and complaining about this. Else this thing is over before it gets going. And no, I am not joking either.

first of all, a pretty solid list. while not my top 64, one could make an argument for anyone on here, with the exception of collective soul and the goo goo dolls! what the heck is that? ill give you bon jovi, but come on, the goo goo dolls? you left the pixies off for the goo goo dolls! no janes addiction, but we have collective soul!

also, even though they are billed as "solo" acts, sprigsteen has the e. street band, neil young had crazy horse and prince had/has the revolution/the new power generation - those acts were all legit bands by definition. all 3 would wipe the floor with most of the 64 seeds. too bad!

    anyway, heres mine

    1) beatles - easy

    8) g n r - ill go with the real deal, but d.l. wins the 1 armed drum-off

    12) rush

    4) van halen - will go far on the back of diamond-dave - screw van hagar!

    6) the cure

    14) chicago - not a fan of either, but I cant stand the doors

    7) the dead

    15) rage

    1) STONES BABY!

    8) rem - only bon jovi could make stipe seem straight in comparison

    12) soundgarden

    4) kiss - close one though

    11) beach boys - that’s tough too - pet sounds/smile wins

    14) b-52's

    7) chili peppers - pre-first-time-fruciante-quit only - navarro and post navarro rhcp suck (in my opinion)

    2) the who - collective soul on here???

    1) LED ZEP - john bonham would punch you in the face if you dared compare his band to these other pansies.

    8) the clash

    5) black sabbath - w/out sabbath there would have been no AIC

    4) ac/dc

    11) ccr

    3) zz top - nod to the locals

    10) smiths - damn, that’s really tough. both big influences growing up.

    15) foo fighters - only b/c I don’t like aerosmith

    1) floyd - the goo goo dolls??? Sorry, but UUGGHH

    9) the band - roots rock vs. synth pop

    12) sex pistols

    4) u2 - this is the toughest of all - they would both be in top 5 or 6, but in the end id go w/ u2.

    11) police

    14) blondie - screw lars!

    7) the crue

    2) queen
