it's like they always say......"you can't teach height."

then again, maybe you can't teach toughness either, though Yao has gotten a ton better as of late.

This matchup only comes down to the PF battle because:
1.) I think JJ can keep a lock down on Brony. Even if he himself can't, we have the best D in the L. And Brony still can't shoot.
2.) Boozer is the most consistent Cavs player (look at the stats, this is fact). And I'm a big Duke fan. Let Boozer take the outside shots. He his somewhat like Cato. His strong inside (but Boozer has some post moves) and a tough rebounder. But he is not a good jump shooter (is it something about the Cavs??) So if Cato and MoT keep him outa the paint, we will win.

if there is a list of 10 greatest players in NBA history (there might be one out there) and , i bet most are tall centers. of course, you can find a few of guards are in there, like mj, magic (he is not short actually), and i thomas. does it tell you that for a guard to be in the list, it's much hard than a tall center. if lebron wants to be in that list, he has to be extremely great. well, yao might only need to be great. that's enough. it sounds not fair, but it is true because this is NBA. the basket is above your head. who could have the easiest way to put the ball in the basket? i think you can figure it out. am i right?

comparing lj rookie year to sf 5th year, makes sf look better. Sf has a team of people to share the ball with (yaoi, mobley, jackson, taylor) and only avg. 2 points less than lebron. Every other stat is about the same, which is amazing since steve is 6'3 and lebron is 6'8. And just think this is sf worst year.

Anyone who claims that Lebron CAN'T turn out to be better than Yao is an idiot.

Anyone who claims that Yao CAN'T turn out to be better than Lebron is an idiot (especially in the aftermath of a 41/16 on 21 FGA game by Yao).

Well, Shaq says that Yao "definitely.. will be one of the greatest centers to play this game." He didn't even bother to qualify it with a statement that Yao might "have a chance".. he stated it as a certainty.

But I guess that's not good enough for you? Because, you know, what the heck does Shaq know!

Well, both juggie and DavidS have fleed the scene of this thread like they stole something. I don't think they'll be coming back to face the music of their faulty logic and idiotic statements.

Im not a Yao hatter or anything i just think LJ is a badass player, the kid has alot of up side, not that Yao dosnt. Pretty much i think LJ will be more dominant on a team than Yao if they were both in their prime and had good players around them. BUT i am a all ROX fan so im gona go off track and say Yao will be #1 :D

what do you mean LJ will be more dominant on a team than Yao?
i don't get. could you explain a little bit deeper?

based on athletic factors, lebron is betther than yao. no one argues about that, but a team with yao plus a set of quality players should be better than a team with lebron plus a set of quality players because the way of NBA is played.

Thats simple i just see somthing in LJ you dont see in other players he has what it take like MJ did. Hes not like another Steve F. or a B. Davis he is more, i think he can take the league to another level like MJ did BUT of course i sure as hell could be wrong

    thanks for explanation.

it depends on how much faith you have on him. wish you are right, then we see another mj. i remember when kobe came in, everyone was so joyful to think we had a young mj. now it seems we were all wrong.

On the note that Lebron has led his team to a much better record... Didn't Cleveland basically tank their season last year to maximize their chances of landing Lebron? I remember how they just played young players over better veteran players.

So Lebron hasn't really made his team better. It's just that they actually started trying to win again.

There are quite a few guards and small forwards among the best players. But if you look at teams with championships, then it's a pretty overwhelming edge for big men in terms of history.

If you want to see them go against each other live, 160 $30 tickets for the Cleveland game Wednesday night just opened up and are available right now through rockets.com. (A group that had them on hold cancelled.) They'll probably sell before morning, but the game has been listed as a sellout for a while and I didn't want anybody here to miss their chance in case they wanted to get tickets the first time around but missed out.

When is the Rockets organization going to start acknowledging ClutchFans for this kind of advertising?

On a side note, there's no way in HELL that Pippen is one of the top 50 players of all time. There are two reasons he was on that list A) Michael Jordan, B) he played at that time, oh, and one more reason, C) Michael Jordan.
