I say Yao must prepare. Have the right teammates, and acknowledge that LeBron is going to be a threat....Hmmm....I'd say that's fair.

Then you say, Yao will dominate Lebron, have the prefect teammates, beat LeBron no matter what (win only one game in Finals) and win the championship regardless...and you call me biased! Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!! LOL!!!!

    :D

DavidS, do you really think free agents are going to be beating on the Cav's door to play in Cleveland?? To play with Lebron, sure... until they remember the Artic winters, the freezing blizzards. You get the picture. It's no coincidence that so many players make their home in Houston during the offseason. Warm weather and no state income tax.

I think Lebron will get his talented rear-end out of Cleveland as soon as his contract lets him. It won't matter that he can get more money there. He'll be making zillions off of shoe contracts for years. I think you guys are having a specious argument. :p

Just like it was said on television during the all-star game, players around the league are "tired of hearing about Lebron." Do you honestly think the under 30 year old free agents want to swallow their pride to play for an unproven 19 year old rookie? I don't think so. Sure, the over 30 year old free agents who are past their prime but are becoming role players would join up with Lebron, but that's not saying much. Lebron is averaging 20 points per game on about 20 shots per game. Yao is averaging almost 17 points per game on about 10 shots per game. Big men win championships 9 times outta 10. Ask Shaq, Olajuwon, McHale, and Jabbar. What guard ever won a championship? Sure Jordan did, but Lebron ain't no Jordan and never will be.

    Oh, and Yao is 7'6".

Well, Houston heat !!!!...;) (What does it feel like when it rains in the summer?)

No, really....:) I'm not talking about this year or next. I'm talking about the next 10 years. Beware! I'm just saying....

He will be a THORN in our sides!

Actually, I'm worred about both LeBron and Melo. In fact, I think that Melo has "killer instinct."

    what's your point?

are your rox fan? are you going to say rox GM is stupid. all other teams GM is better than rox's GM. why can't rox GM build a best team for rox fans.

i've never deny lebron is not a thread. i ask which team has the better chance to win a ring with the assumption both players have a set of best role players.

when you ANSWER my posts, you are actually talking about lebron is a thread and lebron is a super star. plz find any word in my posts which indicates lebron is not a threat and lebron is not a super star. you are not answer my question. do you understand?

A 19 year old rookie? I'm talking long term...not this year....he's not going to be 19 forever.

Watch what happens in the next 7-10 years. They will be a dangerous team. Same with Denver.

We'll have to wait and see, now wont we?

If we don't get the right team players (which we DONT HAVE NOW), we will never get to the finals, period (you can speculate all you want)!

Stick around, pull up a chair, and watch the show....it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Yao does NOT have the right players around him now. And there's no guarantee that we will (maybe a fan revolt might help).

Exactly, nowhere in my posts did I say "lebron is not a threat" "lebron is not a superstar"

This DavidS poster is just trolling I believe. Why he chooses to debate about whether another player on another team on a Rockets board is beyond my comprehension. If I have to read any more of this drivel I believe I'll be enacting the ignore option for the first time.

of course, this is a team work. we won't go anywhere if we can't get right players.

They are both fantastic talents. They are going to make that a draft to remember!

    useless comment.

the entire world knows this. You're not saying anything new.

    useless comment.

This was virtually the same thing you said above, only re-worded. useless comment.

I fail to see the point of your posts about this matter. Are you trying to make a scene so that 10 years from now when Lebron becomes a "threat" you can pull this thread up and say "HAH I TOLD YOU SO!"? It sure seems like it.

silentfan, you will not understand until Yao receives a heartbreaking loss in the playoffs...
...and they will understand how hard it is to go deep into the playoffs....again, not a guarantee.

If I piss you off! Good! This is nothing compared to how you will feel in the playoffs after a heartbreaking loss. This is no time to be soft and sensitive. Understand that there is nothing guaranteed (in the playoffs/finals) just because we have Yao.

Hey! He might even start to make inroads sooner than you think.

silentfan, this is about preparation. And not taking our opponents lightly just because we have Yao. That's happened too many times in the past.

Sure Carmelo and Lebron are special, but is it really hard to put up 20 ppg when you're the #1 option on your team and you have the freedom to jack up 20+ shots EVERY game? Was Carmelo's "killer instinct" what caused him to lose the game for Denver by getting his shot blocked twice in the last minute of the game tonight? Sounds like he was trying to be the hero and failed. Hmm, just something to ponder....

sigh....that wasn't the point. I was quoting you on the 10 year comment. The point was whether you would come back 10 years from now (regardless of when Lebron becomes a "threat") and resurrect this thread to demonstrate your clairvoyance.

    I think so.

    Deckard,
LeBron grew up less than 35 miles from Gund Arena. The cold weather for the rest of his career won't impact his decision. IMHO, he's not going anywhere. He is in a perfect position to script the future of the Cavs and not have to share anything of his legacy with any predecessors. He will stand alone at the top of whatever he accomplhishes in Cleveland. In fact, IIRC he was actually excited about being drafted by CLE and playing for Paul Silas.

Remember, the cold weather never stopped 80,000 maniacs from watching the old CLE Browns in an open-aired stadium. ;)

silentfan, you are soooooo short-sighted!!!! Only thinking about what's happened lately...
You think that Melo has no killer insticted just because he lost one game? Get real!

Let me ask you a question....

Do you think that LeBron will average 20 ppg for his carreer? 25 ppg? Or 28 ppg?
Do you think that he will average 6 rpg? 7 rpg? Or 8 rpg?
Do you think tha the will average 6 apg? 7 apg? Or 8 apg?

He's not going to stay at 20ppg....

Although this stats are similar to what Francis did in his rookie year. This guy is 6'8", 240lbs, huge hands, very good ball handling, good passer, and very very strong!

    Here's my prediction...

    25ppg, 8rpg, 6apg with only 2.8 tpg.

Yup. Definitely trolling. Nowhere in my posts did I say the Rockets were guaranteed championships because we have Yao. You're an idiot.

My bad! If he grew up there, then he ain't goin' nowhere. Thanks!
Shows how well read I am. ;)

I know their fans are nuts. I wish ours could borrow a little of that. Houston fans aren't consistantly crazy. (like they can be here!)
