That's true. But just like other great players, you can't ignore their talent. It's only a matter of time that the smart ones to finally figure that out. LeBron had very good teachers. All I'm saying that one of these days, Yao (if he makes it to the Finals) might have to battle vs LeBron.
sorry about generalization, but that is the case quite often you can see in today's NBA. especially those young talent kids who DO have a potential and skills to be a super star.
yes, eventually, they will figure out like glover and mailman, but how old they are now. how long did it take them to realize that. how long have they been in NBA? by that time, yao is probably over his peak, just like shaq, and lebron is going to be old too. by that time, NBA may have other young kids who have same or better future than lebron. now back to the basic. my question is: which has a better chance to win a champ? yao with a bunch of role players vs lebron with a bunch of role players. let's assume all those role players are same. don't tell me maybe yao doesn't have a right role player. let's say they all have a bunch of right role players. I would pick yao's team.
regardless of how well they're playing, the Cavs are still in the East and they're still .500 and the Rockets should still beat them, which means it will be a close game. I expect a decent game from Yao - Big Z is even slower than him and though he has really good height, Yao seems to perform worse against more athletic, muscular players, especially those who take advantage of the size difference by leveraging their lower center of gravity, something Big Z can't do.
in all Rox-Cavs games, it is most likely that L. James gets better stats than yao, but Rox win the games. The reason is simple, they will throw 2-3 guys to Yao, and let the rest of Rox take open shots.
Of course you will. You are a Yao fan. It's obvious. How do I know? You WONT give LeBron any credit. By the way. You are talking about a "perfect world." And we both know that the world doesn't work like that. Winning a championship requires a lot more than that. Ownership, talent, coaching, timing, teamwork, and luck. My point is that LeBron WILL be a huge threat. And Yao must have the right teammates to counter that. And based on my observance of his personality, work ethic and talent. I feel that LJ will lead his team to the finals one day. Here's what you are saying about Lebron...."He will be a selfish player. Have no money to offer other players. Wont learn teamwork until he's too old, and never win a championship. Here's what you are saying about Yao..."He will NOT be a selfish player. Have the money to offer other players. Have players that fit PERFECTLY, and win tons of championships. Wow! Talk about being biased.
Is LeBron the same persons as "glove and mailman?" More generalizing? P.S. Payton knew about teamwork early in this career, and took of in his 4th. Same with Mailman. He had Stockton. Anytime you have a SG that has 6 apg, you know you have a shooting guard that likes to pass. He is sloppy. But he's also just 19.
Lebron James is at least 4 years younger, plus guards have longer careers. It's quite possible that James will end up playing at least 6 or 7 seasons longer than YM, When Ming turns 33 (downside of career), James will only be 29. Raven
There has never been a big man with Yao's combination of height and his enormous base. His lower body is gigantic. Then you add his skills, and who compares? I was lucky enough to watch Sampson play. Put him next to Yao and he's a stick... Bradley with skills. The big question is... will Yao last? And will he get better? Yes, if he lasts. He's really one of a kind, but the jury is out on his long-term impact on the game. James is a special player. And I would kill to have him on the Rockets. But the old saying is true. You can't teach height. Since the question was asked, I'll pick Yao. But it's two different years. I think both of their teams won.
Who would you pick in a half court game between Yao Ming and Lebron James? Just those two guys going at it. I'd pick Yao Ming. Why? Simply because he's too tall for Lebron. How will Lebron defend against Yao? He can't. Yao is stronger, and taller. Yao will shoot over him all day. And Yao will block many of Lebron's shots.
1st, how do you know i am an yao only fan? when i watched rox game. it was back to hakeem won first champ. it clearly shows what bias you are. 2nd, when you said yao must have the right teammates to counter that. it is same to lebron. he has to have the right role players. that's reason i put some assumptions for my question. otherwise, you can spend your whole life to argue. do you think it is worth to do that? 3rd, the reason i picked yao because of his height and his skills as a center which IS STARING to show no one can stop him. In playoff, the intensity is maximized. the defense becomes critical parts to win a game. yao as a taller center has an advantage over lebron. lebron might steal a game, but playoff is 7-game series. i dunno how to talk you. if you still don't understand, let's end this arguement. ok? good night.
One game? Hmmm, how nice of you! Guess LeBron isn't that good to get two. You still wont acknowledge the threat. What I'm doing is saying that LJ will be a threat that Yao will have to deal with. What you are saying is that Yao will dominate anyone, not matter who it is, and win a title in the future that you know nothing about, hook line and sinker.... P.S. Do you even know what biased means?
i am talking about other good players who are coming to lebron's team to play for him. what are you talking about? OMG, plz read my post carefully before you answer it.
BULLSH*T. Nobody who is anybody in the league is itching to go to Cleveland. Lebron has shown he is a good player, but so did Steve Francis when he was a rookie putting up similar numbers. If any free agents are going to make a move based on winning a championship it sure as hell isn't going to be Cleveland as they won't be a contender for another 3 years--if that. You don't win championships with a guard in this day and age of skilled 7 footers. I'd be willing to bet more free agents want to come to houston to win a championship with Yao than they will with another T-Mac/Kobe clone.
Yao leads his team in Points, Rebounds, and Blocks in the Western Conference on a legit playoff contender. Lebron leads his team in Points and Steals, but plays in the Eastern Conference on a team that is 22-34. Advantage: Yao Oh, and Yao is 7'6".
i don't have any problem on your point. normally big fellow is prone to be injured. does that mean lebron might have to wait yao over the peak? then there comes up another question, can you imagine during that period time we can't find any great young players?
How do you know that more International players wont join his team? They are gaining more interests in the NBA. It's the GM's job to put the best players around the star. They know what's best. And they know there's a problem with selfishness. They are aware of it, and if they are smart they will avoid those type of players. Your view is so obvious. You are wishing selfish players join the Cavs. Because you know that if it doesn't go your way, then Yao will have competition. What I am saying is that they will build a very strong team (with right players) and they will be a threat. See the difference?
BS? Ok, talk to me in 5 years... And you compare SF to LJ? Ha! How silly! And I'm not saying that no FA wont come to Houston. But the Cavs will become a hot bed too.
