Funniest thing was listening to "Pugs & Kelly" radio show here in the Dallas area talking about the game. They were saying they had no clue what quarter it was while watching the NFL Network and only the score and time was being displayed but not the quarter. Dumbasses. That's because they have four bars which were always up when the score was up where the bars lit up indicating the quarter. They also had a light bar for who had possession.

I guess you could miss that if you don't know what to look for.

I can't wait til the Texans lock up their sixth consecutive season. It should be on 12/13. I have my tickets!

'07 Pre-season quote by Texanskan, "Romo will be exposed."

You're right. He's been exposed as a Pro-Bowl playoff QB with highest QB rating in the NFC while breaking the single-season Cowboys passing TD record!

In all fairness to the dynasty of the 90's - this current team does not have an Emmitt Smith to lead the league in rushing and touchdowns. If it DID have a runner like that, or, say for example someone who might turn out to be very special in the draft next year like McFadden, someone who could be more like Emmitt than Julius, then Romo might not ever see another passing year like this one.

They pass because they can, it works well, and they have one of the very best pass-blocking lines in the league. I'm not totally positive that they could use the o-line personnel they have now to be more run-oriented than pass-oriented even IF they got a high-end runner. Seems to me that having a guy like Barber makes for the perfect compliment to their pass-first offensive philosophy.

Run the opposing defense ragged for 3 quarters, and then pound them into submission in 4th behind that monstrous line and the very mean-spirited Barber. That's who this team is, they are finally really figuring it out, and Jason Garrett has fine-tuned it: you better not hit the 4th quarter tied or trailing this team, because you're going to have a VERY hard time with this offense in the stretch run of the game. The Pats had lunged out to enough of a lead that we had to play catch-up in the 4th, which is not our strength.

Question: Since the Pats are being tossed around as 'The Best Ever' team, if the Cowboys beat them in the Super Bowl, would that make this Dallas team 'Better Than The Best Ever'?

    ;)

You better get ready, because Dallas will make the SuperBowl. Probably 2 (they make it):1 odds or better. I am thinking GB will have a tougher division round game (though not necc, I think Sea and NYG are biggest threats to Dallas than Tampa--who could get the #3 seed) and then have to play Dallas at Dallas. Now Dallas winning the SB it will be tough.

And how anyone who has watched the Pats the last 2 weeks just assumes that Indy or Pitt part 2 is a sure thing--keep on smoking what the rest of the media is smoking. These Pats are not really built for Boston in January as well as the Stealers or Colts--who have better defenses and better backs/running games. The Jags or SD almost surely wouldn't beat NE in round 1, but they could give them a fight in a nasty weather game as well, where much of the skill advantages of NE are nuetrelized.

All it takes for a NE loss in an off game of pass blocking by their oline--just like what happened to Indy at home to Pitt in 06--a team that if I recall was 13-0 at one point.

Overall, I would say Dallas chances of making it to the superbowl are nearly as good as the Pats. Winning it is not the same story, of course, Dallas would be a big underdog versus them (but not like they wouldn't have a fighting chance), and medium underdog versus Indy or small underdog versus Pitt (if they made it through).

But get ready for Dallas in the superbowl.

People just bash the Cowboys because of some blind hate like they are the Mavericks or something, because you cant pick on what they are doing on the field. All the talk about the Patriots being undefeated, they forget the Cowboys are 11-1 and aren't going to lose the rest of the yr. This team has crushed pretty much every thing in their path, and in any other yr, an 11-1 Dallas team would be the story of the league.

People hate on Tony Romo, but the fact is he is having a monster season. He's gonna have around 4500 yds and 45 tds, and the int numbers are skewed by the 5 int BUF game. If Brady wasn't having the greatest season ever, Romo would be the MVP in his 1st full season as a starter.

Randy Moss??? T.O. is having a better year than Moss, and the only other reciever to worry about on the Cowboys is Witten. Moss has Stallworth, Welker and Watson to protect him. Everybody likes to talk about Owens when he causes trouble, but nobody wants to say jack when he has become a huge leader on the team, and the only trouble he causes is for other teams secondaries.

I like the Patriots but lets not give them the Vince Lombardi Trophy yet. The Cowboys are really, really good. Cowboys have been getting better all year, and the Cowboys and Pats are so close, its all about who is playing better. I think if they played again this week in Dallas, the Cowboys would win. Dallas has gotten several key players back from injury since the first time, and are playing much better.

Quit trying to be a reasonable Cowboys fan. You are going to give those loud obnoxious fans a bad name by being reasonable and presenting good arguments in a reasonable manner.

I wish we could just fast forward to Cowboys Patriots II but even at 11-1 and 12-0 this is still the NFL and on any given Sunday any team can win and if either team were to lose in the playoffs we fans won't get to see the rematch.

I'm not a fan of Cowboys or the Patriots. ALthough, the Pats are a better team, the Cowboys have much easier road to the Super Bowl than Patties. Like you said, that North Atlantic weather is not a pass friendly environment, while the Dallas will be playing in a cushy dome in Texas. Also, the Pats have to go through hellish conference called the AFC.....possibly playing the likes the Steelers, Colts, Jags, and even weaker teams who could be present nightmarish upset to Pats, like the Titans, Chargers, or Browns.

Patriots are going to draw top 10 defense in both rounds of the playoffs, because every team I mentioned above (except the Browns) are great blitzing teams and good getting pressure with some being very physical - Steelers and Jags. Also, another thing is each team above has either has great to good running back or ranked pretty high in team rushing. With all the pressure on New England with such heavy advantage.

Dallas may run through the NFC, fairly easy, but they could possibly have trouble with well-balanced team like Seahawks or even a scrappy, high-powered offense like the Cardinals or the Packers.

I think the playoffs will be very good this year, much better than people think, where Pats steamroll everyone.

Yep, I agree, the mavs are different than the cowboys, the fans are different.
    Mavs are very onboxious.

I hate the mavs, but I like the Cowboys.

Yeh I'm a huge cowboys fan too and hate the mavs. But one thing though, the crowd in Texas Stadium is dumb for being so loud when we have possession of the ball, I swear it has cost the offense at LEAST 3 false starts this season.

    I concur with most everything.

Cleveland (no defense)/Tenn (mediocre all around talent) will be the only fairly easy out for NE, but I don't they will win at SD or Pitt/Indy the week before to get that shot. I am pretty sure NE will draw SD or JVille in round 1--and they might not be a pushover in a bad weather game. And the Pitt/Indy surviver in the AFC championship would be even tougher.

For Dallas I am most concerned with GB, NYG and Sea, in that order. I think the Giants probably have the #2 talent in the NFC (or at worst a close #3 to GB). As long as Coughlin and Eli keeping them worse than the sum of their parts I am not terribly concerned, but this team playing with a nothing to lose attitude/no expectations could be trouble. In terms of defensive front 7 talent and offensive skill weapons (WR, TE, RB)--they are loaded, plus you don't want to have beat a team 3 teams. Sea could be trouble for a half with a hot Hassellback and their WRs, but I think they are nowhere near balanced enough or good enough on D to play with Big D there for a whole game.

Tampa is a good bounce back story who Dallas would overwhelm (though Tampa could be some trouble for a bad weather Pack game in GB), similar if the Cards or Vike made it that far.

That's pretty weak considering most Mavericks fans are also Cowboys fans (in fact I can't even think of anyone who isn't a Cowboys fan) and these fans act the same towards both teams. Plus, aren't the two owners pretty much identical? That has to carry forward in some way or manner.

I thought that too, but there is a difference...Not to derail, but most cowboys fans are well, hispanic...At least the ones I've seen at games and bars...They're not obnoxious as the typical mav fans...No offense, but I've only seen that "stereotyping" here in Dallas...I think its the $30K phenomenon... ;)

Besides, this is why the Mavs are ghey:

    Case closed, the Mavs suck...

Ughh. No, and no. Probably 80% or more of Cowboys fans are NOT Mavs fans. Cowboys fans are throughout the nation and many in Houston, Mavs fans are pretty much confided to living within or near that freeway loop up there. And Jerry Jones does not do any of the type of antics during games nor media "we are such victims" manipulations that Mark Cuban does. The only thing similar about Jerry and Cuban are their egos and open wallets. Daniel Snyder--the whiney little know it all, really know nothing about football, owner of the Skins-- is the Mark Cuban of the NFL.

When I lived in Dallas, the only sets of fans I didn't want to sock in the nose were Rangers and Stars fans. Screw the Cowboys and the Mavs!!!

Of course, it really sucks that this girl I'm dating now is a freaking Cowboys (and Spurs. and Aggies) fan. Ugh.

The main reason that Dallas has easier road is because most of their NFC rivals are inconsistent and very suspect at some area on their team.

    Packers: Turnovers and running game.
Giants: Turnovers, wildly inconsistent Eli, and inconsistent defense (who play really well on some Sundays, but are lit up like firework show on others).
Seattle: Struggle with weak teams with losing records.

OT Subject: Jaguars are probably the most unfortunate team in the playoffs, if they beat the Steelers in few weeks. They would've beaten both likely division winners, Steelers and Chargers, and even finish with similar record or better. 12-4 or 11-5, and still have to go on the road.
