Let's hope Battier's percentages swing back in the direction of his career averages, because right now for the year he's at .368, while his career % is .387 on threes. .368 is kinda scary when you consider that, unlike T-Mac or Rafer that took a lot of contested threes late in the clock, the majority of Battier's threes come within the flow of the offense and are WIDE OPEN. When wide open within the flow of the offense, I bet T-Mac and Rafer probably had the same percentages.

Crossing my fingers here that this isn't a sign of Battier's career declining.

Overall, Battier's defense and offense has been atrocious this season. I'm sure people will make excuses for him, but he needs to show up in the box score for this team to be successful. 6 ppg from one of your starters just isn't going to get it done.

it was a very heady play by shane. I just want him to trust his shot a bit more, but he does do little things that win games each night.

I'm normally a supporter of Battier due to the intangibles... but with the contributions he's making, I'm starting to think maybe he should be spelled more

hate to double post, but did not mean to submit. Apologies.

What I mean is, I like what he brings, and his decision making is great, but maybe he should come in at more crucial times, and give way during more minutes in the game to someone with decent defense and a bit more offense.

Maybe we would find ourselves in this position (tonight's game where he HAD to make that call) less.

Maybe his defense isn't quite what I thought it was last season, because I wouldn't have felt that way last year... and maybe I'm just becoming disenchanted with it due to the lack of production... but he seems to produce more/better with rest, and I'm not saying he shouldn't be in there for situations like he created tonight, he's clutch. I like that. But maybe he's seeing too many "average" minutes?

    Just maybe.

I dont agree that's a head up play by Battier.

Ron had been throwing up ill-advised shots all game and making them. So, My bet is Ron would throw up an ill-advised shots and make it with And 1. Then Ron would miss the FT but grab the board for another 2 point with And 1. Ron would finally make the FT. It would end up a 5 point play from Ron. I think Battier had costed us a 5 point play. Silly Battier! :D

I remeber yelling at the tv screaming, "Call a TIME OUT!"

Seconds later Battier heard me & went ahead and called a time out.

Heads up play by a heads up player.

There's a reason Battier is called the "No stats all-star".

Post an Excel chart of Shane's activities (with quarter and time annotations) throughout the game so we the bbs can see what you are talking about.

That's the effect Battier has on people. Guy calls a timeout and they want to nominate him for MVP, surprised I didn't see it on ESPNs NBA highlights.

People he needs to start putting the ball in the hole.
