Yeah, he seems like a coach to me also. I've always thought of him as that type. Lindsay hunter, mitchell, those type of guys post career.
Idk.. Battier seems like he can't wait to just enjoy life... I think he'll invest his money well and just be a family man for the rest of his life..
"the requested video is not available." This is the third time I've been through all this bs. where else can I find this vid?
Or a male model, according to Scola. I think GM may well be in Battier's future. I also think, given his playing tendencies, he may well adopt Daryl Morey's methods as a GM. Daryl Morey will be trying to keep Battier employed as a player in order to delay Battier's entry into the GM market.
He seems like he's really into the advanced stats. He's learning from Morey's and Hinkie's approach, and I think he'll eventually take that to another team.
Blair is a power forward and has a history of knee injuries that will probably end his career before long. We made the right decision, even if San Antonio now has a legit young PF to play along side Duncan. Taylor has a while to ride our bench so hopefully he isn't the type that will grow frustrated but will pick up on the areas he is lacking so that he can prove he deserves more minutes. Literally, unless there is a trade, I don't see him averaging more then 1.5 minutes a game at this point. At the very worst, we are likely to see him locked out like Joey Dorsey, but that would be due to the fact that everyone above him is better in some manner.
I gotta say, I really like the chemistry I see between Budinger and Battier. Budinger seems like he really wants to learn all the intricacies of NBA defense in addition to improving his overall offense, and it seems that he's been learning a ton from Battier this season. This isn't the first I've heard or seen about Chase being very active about taking as much knowledge as he can from Shane.
Most everyone was expecting Budinger to be awful on defense, but he's held his own pretty well. My guess is that his relationship with Battier has a lot to do with that.
Defense has a lot to do with effort. Budd has been showing great effort despite the team sucking as a whole. He has good lateral footspeed and good size so he should be at least adequate. I do agree with shane about technical parts of basketball like reading the screens and just subtle stuff.
Did you all watch the rest of the interview videos? The one guy kept asking questions about LeBron over and over to coach. Annoying.
you should add "on offense" to the end of that 2nd sentence. The not thinking thing also led him to play horrible team defense.
I could see battier coaching using all the advanced stats, but in high school. I think he'll take the Biggio route.
