i really, really hope you are kidding with the insinuations here.

we need a sarcasm font on this bbs, so we know whether to take things that seem uninformed as such.

Let me know who that player is and i'll answer that because I'm sure you're not talking about Shane. It sounds like you'd prefer to be in an AND1 League...

And before you come back with the same statement that lacks any kind of evidence, check this out:

    Season
    06-07 10.1 ppg 44.6 FG% 78 FT% 42 3PT%
    07-08 9.3 ppg 42.8 FG% 74 FT% 38 3PT%

    Playoffs
    06-07 10.3 ppg 45.1 FG% 87 FT% 44 3PT%
    07-08 10.0 ppg 44.4 FG% 72 FT% 48 3PT%

wow look at that, he must have disappeared and then came back, snuck in and pretty much increased all of his offensive stats. He's not only a ball player, but a magician as well!

Man, you are such a Battier hater. Do you always eat rotten eggs??? It seems like everything comes out your mouth stinks when it comes to Battier.

Now you blame everything that didn't go the Rockets' way on the Batman.
Let me ask you, are you watching the same games that we are watching?

Lack of athleticism? You got to be kidding me. Battier always gets the toughest assignments every game and guards the best players from the
opposing teams. ( Does Kobe, Lebron come to mind? )

He defends players that are paid at least 3 or 4 times his salary and doing
a fantastic job at it. He's a team player and always gives 110% on the basketball court and do what's best for the team. His contribution to the team may not show up on the stats, but we all know that the Rockets is a much better team with him than without.

If you ask me, I think Les Alexander is getting a good deal out of the Batman.
In case you don't know, we love Battier here in China and therefore we
must be way smarter than you.

    You are wrong, sorry.

    Dr. Clanton recommended against surgery.
Phoenix Suns surgeon recommended against surgery.
Dr. Andrews (the most well know sports med doc in the country) recommended against surgery.

TMac continued to get extra opinions...

Wow it just amazes me what Battier supporters will do to try and portray him positively. Usually his fans ignore stats like the ones posted above when they are detrimental to Shane, but will be quick to highlight them when they help. It's called selection bias and you're guilty of it. You're being dishonest, because he had 20 points or something in the 1st game of the playoffs last year, but averages 7 ppg for the rest of the series. Also, go look at his playoff record in Memphis. They never won a single playoff game. If Battier makes teams so much better, how do you explain his old team never having won a game in their entire history? Not to mention the fact that he was lit up by Dirk in the playoffs the year before he came to Houston.

I don't hate anybody. I love the Houston Rockets. Yes, Battier lacks athleticism (one of his many weaknesses). Go look at how much Kobe scored against the Rockets before Battier got here and how much he's scored since Battier arrived. Also, while you're at it, go see how good a defensive team the Rockets were before Battier arrived and you'll see that there's not much difference since he's been here. Last, if Shane is such a hard worker, then how come he hasn't improved overall as a player since he's been in the league? Trying hard doesn't mean anything unless you have the talent to accompany it. I see plenty of guys try hard at the gym, it doesn't mean they should be the starting SF for the Houston Rockets.
