I agree with everything you just said. I am somewhere between cynical and cautiously optimistic about the level of play we will get from our 1 and 2 spots. Among Snyder, Alston, Head, V Span, JL3 and Abuz or another FA, we need 2-3 to prove they are worthy of heavy NBA minutes AND prove they can fit in (Snyder's challenge). I would just add if Tmac has to play the SG simply because those guys don't cut it (which I think is a frequent argument for Howard starting--that he is a better player than any SG not named Tmac), that creates as many problems as it helps. Assuming our SGs don't completely fizzle, Battier will get more PF minutes than any other player (he will get secondary minutes as Tmac's back-up at the 3), and Howard becomes a valuable back-up 4/5.
