Battier or Dunleavy, LOL, this is a joke right? There is no question that Shane Battier is the more dominent player in college basketball. You are comparing a pretty good sophmore in Dunleavy to a senior Battier, who will probably win national player of the year honors. What can't Battier do, a great defender, has improved his three point shots, and can play down in the post, not to mention that he is the glue on that Duke Blue Devils team. There really is no comapring the two. I hate Duke, I never really liked them. They disgust me, however, i cannot be shocked to notice that people actually think Dunleay is in the sa,e league as Battier. Now don't get me wrong, I hate Battier because he just an annoying player when i watch him playing. Battier better than Dunleavy.

Ali- im gonna apply to Rice too. I think they have a lot of athletic scholarships. One of my school's former football hero's goes there- Jack Dawson... heard of him?

The next time I have meat and mashed potatoes, I think I'll put a very large blob of potatoes on my plate with just a little piece of meat. And if someone asks me why i didn't get more meat, ill just say, "Oh, you mean this?" and pull out a big piece of meat from inside the blob of potatoes, where ive hidden it. Good magic trick, huh?

Lead his sad sack team to a national championship. Kinda reminds me of the Red Sox.

    While we are talking colleges.

Which school would you go to out of these:

    Brown, UVA, and Columbia.

And how would your opinion change if Yale or Harvard was thrown in?

Ranking of Duke's 5 best pro prospects:

    1. J. Williams - the best Jason Williams in ALL of basketball, at any level.
    2. Duhon - didn't know he had that kind of hops.
    3. Dunleavy - see Orlando's Mike Miller.
    4. Battier - would be great addition to NBA team looking for leadership and role play. If only he were a bit better athletically..
    5. Boozer - would be #2 if he had Battier's work ethic.

I wish people would stop bringing up Battier's lack of athleticism. Like MManal said, it's not like he's Joe Kleine or Danny Schayes--to be able to do the things he does he has to have some athletic ability. Granted, he's not going to fly down the court and throw down wicked jams like a Wallace or Jefferson will be doing in a few years, but just because he doesn't do those types of things, that doesn't mean it will hurt whatever team selects him.

The thing I'm most concerned about with Battier is that since he plays the opposing teams' 4 on defense, we really don't know if he can step out on the perimeter and defend an NBA 3. But then again there are very few players in the league that can do that to begin with, and of those few players, none are on the Rockets, and Battier could probably give us more perimeter d than anybody else on our current roster could.

Speaking of Jefferson, did anyone see that MEAN throw down off the inbounds pass this past weekend? That guy has some serious ups...I wish people would start paying this guy more attention because he could really be something special if given the chance.

P.S. This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.

rm95: How can you not like Duke? They're great, have class, and generally produce players that are great good on and off the court. The school is also excellent academically.

I thought about applying there, and decided against it because it's in NC, where I would NOT want to be... but there isn't a better program. Hate some who deserves it, like UNLV or Cincinati (the "bad boys").

Have class? Are you kidding me? I hated Duke the second Christian Laetner stepped on a UK player's chest, on purpose, didn't get ejected, and then hit the game winning shot to send them to the Final Four.

Or how about earlier this year against Boston College when Jason Williams was openly taunting the guy who was guarding him by shoving the ball in his face. Luckily he got the forearm to the chest he deserved.

Plus, it doesn't help that every fan of Duke I've ever met are the most arrogant asses I've ever met.

Its funny you ask this question. I have been on all of these campuses. since I have spent mere minutes at UVA, I will not comment on that institution other than that it seemed nice.

Brown- its little, preppy, artssey, and in my favorite city. I wnt to URI which is about 45 mins from providence. the education you get is fine, but the school is small, and a little tightassed. I have known a few girls from there, but most of the females are not interested in men. if they are attractive and interested in men, they usually dont date brown guys. they are more likely to go for a PC guy, or a young local business man

Columbia- its on NYC what else can I cay. if you want the unique experience of living in a city, than by all means go to columbia. its a beutifull campus in a less than beutifull nieghbourhood. the education is top notch, and holds higher status than Brown.

Yale. WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO GO TO YALE???? I have never seen more gay/lesbian couples in my life. I have also not seen so much beutifull(but scary) buildings either. the campus is gothic and creepy at night. but beutifull in the day. its reputationis good, but not as good as harvard. It is right in the middle of New haven which for lack of a better term is a slum. New haven is the last stop on the MTA(subway) so you can get to the city fairly cheaply, and i think is about an hour. I mention the lesbians, because i was shocked. i have visited 3 times, and spent a total of 6 days here. one of those days there was a midevil thing going on, so maybe that attracted them, but It reminded me of the village, or P-town Mass.

Harvard- my 2nd favorite city. BOSTON Imagine a city that has several of the worlds best learning institutions, is beutifull, has a rich history, professional sports, and over 200,000 collage students living in close proximity. you will see every type of person in the world here. I have a lady friend that is getting her masters at MIT, and have been to harvard several times for Debate competitions. This school has the best reputation of all the schools you mentioned. the campus is nice, its between radcliff, and MIT, and just across the river form BC. since Harvard dosnt always have the best sports, you can go to a BU, BC, or Northeastern game instead. there is great collage hockey in that town, and all the major pro teams.

if you dont get a crack at harvard, i suggest Columbia just so you can experience big city living. If it were me I would go to UVA. basically because i have experienced all of the other schools enough.

Honestly though, if you can get into these schools i would suggest applying to STANFORD

furthermore I hope your intrests lie in english, or one of the letters/humanities type cources, otherwise there are much cheaper ways to get a good education.

    PEACE

    Thanks VOR

Its really for my cousin, she got early admition to Brown, Columbia, and UVA.

She was deferred at Harvard and is still waiting for Yale's decision.

She liked Stanford, but they don't look outside of California for bright, asian kids, because of the plethora they already have.

I suggested she go to Columbia also, but she likes how she is an hour and a half away from both Boston and New York if she goes to Brown(Providence)
