I agree. We should be trading the vets for picks and playing the youngsters.

That's cool and all but do you think Shane should be our starting SF?

So, the contenders that can use a small forward are the lakers (ron's lost the plot), san antonio and dallas, which of those would you suggest we trade him too? :p

Just because he is a professional doesn't mean he is a franchise player. Even the greats of the game were traded for the good of the team. He would be better off on a contender.
IMO,he is a leader but he has shortcomings as one too.

He can do that and become the official locker room spokesperson.... oh wait he already is... Shane will cry if we trade him somewhere like Sacramento lol

The present shade of gray thinking isn't exactly working out...

if he gets traded now that would be a strong sign that we are rbuilding.

it's hard because what we want from Shane is a first round pick or a young talent and it's tough to get that from a contender.

nothing is certain here... even the Spurs are not guaranteed a ring this year. these are all fan fun activities. Enjoy the ride.

Iguodala would be a better replacement for him and younger too. Sending him to a contender may be better for Shane, but not necessarily for our team.

he would be great on a number of contenders. Just don't trade him to siberia i.e. Sacramento, Minny (unless Love is part of the deal), GS, Charlotte, etc.

he isn't untouchable but he might be untradeable..
i do hope he retires as a rocket though. maybe after he gets a ring elsewhere.

seems the only thing certain is you not being certain what direction you want this team to go...not that it matters anyways...

We're a team that's closer to rebuilding than contending for a title. Shane's a great person, great player to have on one's team, and great mentor for younger players, but a rebuilding team doesn't really need a player approaching the twilight of his career. As much as I love the guy, he's a very valuable trade asset especially with his defense, his attitude as a player, and also, his expiring contract.

He'd be my pick as a future coach, but he might have other things he wants to do.
