This is a terrible argument. I notice that you haven't even TRIED to make a case that battier is actually better than any of those small forwards. Instead you've tried to prove that because you could make a biased straw-man list, the list that was presented is inaccurate. Why not challenge it on substance rather than rhetoric? Actually I'll answer that for you: Shane battier is one of the worst starters offensively in the entire Nba, and there's no getting around that because the statistics will make you look like a fool if you try. Combine that with good but declining defense, and you get a below average player with no future. Your other argument is equally absurd. That Morey hasn't traded battier probably indicates that there aren't good offers out there. The relevant question is: if Morey had the chance to swap battier for a top half small forward who made the same money, would he? And the answer to that is yes. but he won't get that chance because battier is below average and the rest of the league is starting to realize it. The fact that JVG formerly praised him doesn't mean much other than that he WAS good and USED to be above average. Too bad he's not good ANYMORE.
The answer to the question is yes, but fortunately, Morey uses his own system for ranking players and doesn't rely on armchair fans posting on Internet forums. DM knows ways in which Battier affects the outcome of a game that are not apparent to Joe Clutchfan.
you don't get all stars everyday and you don't get brainiacs on the court like battier everyday either.
The Battier v. Wafer debate has been out there for ages. I'm too tired right now to search out those arguments again and throw them at you. I'm just curious: is this Kwame's second account?
