Fricken Rudy Gay in 38 minutes scored 21 points and got 8 rebounds, and 4 Blocks. Did West make the Rockets his B!#@h? Time will tell.
i can see the good and the bad of making this trade. we are better now instead of being better later. however, if we don't win a championship with shane as a major contributor (or someone we traded shane for) then it will be a total loss. if we do win a ring with shane then i don't care if gay becomes the next dr.J.
Yeah 21 points on 21 shots. With that kind of efficiency Rudy Gay is surely the next Jordan/Magic/Kareem all rolled into one. Do we need any more ballhogs on the Rockets? Time will tell.
How many shots did Rudy take to get his points? He's talented, but lets read the boxscore correctly. The game got out of hand mostly when Battier was on the bench. Battier is important to this team.
We were not picking Rudy Gay anyway! There was zero chance that he would ever be a rocket. So its worthless to compare them
Got to wait a while. If Battier helps the Rockets win a title within a couple years by providing leadership and hustler, it's a good trade. If Gay becomes a superstar and the Rockets don't win one, it's an awful trade.
And people are b****ing about how his bad shooting allegedly lost the game for the Rockets.... in the mean time, you are saying Rudy Gay supposedly had a good night. With all his bricks, TMac played a pretty decent game. Got a lot of assists and the offense ran fine, especially with him around, except for a couple of bad shots toward the end. The problem was the team left too many jump shooters open. Miss rotations, perhaps... and a lot of good luck for the Jazz.
This one game cannot determine anything this should be brought up at the end of the season and besides he shot to much and it was against the Knicks Shane will give us solid pt
It's an awful trade because we didn't get fair talent in return, even if it's just what Gay could be.
if anyone, posts anything right now about the trade, I will explode, the only acceptable answer, Gaylords and Battier supporters alike is, too soon too tell!
Gay had himself a good night too. 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Obviously he had himself an opening night! I'm not saying the Rockets should have drafted Gay, but West took advantage of the Rockets in the trade by not giving the Rockets additional draft picks. I don't care if they were top 20 protected, but, the Rocket folded their hands too quickly!!! I'm not PRO RUDY G. Im a Rocket fan. But, you've got to admit that if Gay goes out and consistently has this type of night in his rookies season, it will look bad for the Rockets!!!
Even if we didnt do the trade we wouldnt have picked Gay maybe Ron Brewer and he is gonna be a solid player he was even giving Tmac a lil trouble
Rudy Gay will still sitting towards the left side of the bench if he is still with the Rockets. JVG never trust any rookie. However, I still think we had made a good trade for Shane Battier. He does lots of dirty works that won't reflect on the box score. it's only the first game of the year, we still have at least 81 more games to prove it.
We're not going to have to wait 2 years before we find out whether this was a good trade or not. Gay is going to get plenty of playing time, his jumper needs work and he's doing it with his athleticism now but the kids upside is way higher than Battier. I vote bad trade.
