Thats even better. Give them Landry for a 20 point a night scorer. If we can get one it makes all of the sense in the world. I know we discussed it but I would like Morey to take note of whats out there. Battiers contributions only will last a couple more seasons and his defense is not so great we cant add a 20 point a night guy and Landry isnt so great we cant either. We have no offense and Jackson wants to come to Texas. It makes sense and we are pretty mush the only Texas team it makes sense for and can do it. I hope Morey knows this. He makes sense and Artest didnt because we already know Tmac and Artest cant coexist but what about Tmac taking the scoring burden off his shoulders and a great passer like him in Jackson working out much better together? it makes sense for Yao to have that tough guy again to have his back. He is not a head case as bad as Artest and he will stay for 3 years at a good price. it all makes sense and I hope Morey sees it. Heck we even need his scoring now and have Battiers replacement in Ariza.
From a GS perspective, Battier would be pretty useless in a whacky Nellie ball system but they would be getting rid of a disgruntled player and his longer contract. As far as Jackson, he has his obvious weaknesses but the dude has been a champion and is undoubtedly a multi-tool player. He's a scorer, playmaker, defender, can get up and down the court and play either wing position. His contract is also fairly reasonable for the numbers he puts up compared to some other players. It won't happen but I don't think it's a terrible idea even with the baggage Jackson brings.
Yup, I like Jackson A LOT actually, but Ball Sacamano has always had a beef with the best defender in the league...
I do not understand all the hatred for the perennial DPOY nominee. Really? Capt. Jack-it-up for Mr. Lockdown? Really?
They could think twice but there are multiple ways this could go down. One being adding Battier and Taylor. Another being Battier and Taylor. Another being Landry and some players. This deal is the most doable of any we have heard so far. Nelly has plenty of scorers and I think he could go for a Landry or Battier if he also got a Budinger or Taylor in the package.
Jackson is a cancer? No he isn't, VERY far from it. I don't understand what would lead someone to make that idiotic conclusion...Sorry if I am being terse but I just don't get it...
He piggy backed Tim Duncan for a ring, congrats to him. Other notables on his resume include completely destroying any legitimate chance Reggie Miller had at getting a ring before he retired, and being a part of one of the biggest current disasters in the NBA (The GSW).
You mean one of the biggest upsets in NBA history when they beat the Dallas Mavericks of 67 wins who we couldnt ever beat with Tmac and Yao?
Please tell me what the definition of a cancer is if it isn't completely destroying a team (Pacers) and then later demanding a trade (Warriors).
Not to say that Shane is better than Jackson...but winning a national title is hardly a meaningful accomplishment and is absolutely useless when it comes to comparing NBA players...Danny Green won one too... by that logic Shane is better than LeBron...
How is that hard to understand? He conned the GS into signing a long term contract for an amount of money he isn't even worth now he wants out? Dude just isn't overpaid, he cons you into a guaranteed contract then wants out into a good team once he gets his money. Prove you're worth the money you're making S-Jack it up instead of demanding a trade you quitter
He did not destroy the Pacers. Demanding a trade=Cancer? Should management not be at fault for grabbing 297 wing players. While letting go of Baron Davis and Jason Richardson for NOTHING.
Cancers dont win Championships and then go on to upset the top team in the NBA playoffs as an 8th seeded team that HE led past the 67 win Mavericks. Nobody. I mean Nobody on this roster. Not Tracy, not Yao, Not even Artest has ever had Stephens success as the main guy or the second option that Stephen has had in the playoffs.
