it may have it's value it may not...rudy gay could very well end up like stevie did (just as much as he couldn't)...remember stevie's start? ya look what happened last year in NY...at least he's on the road to recovery now...we aren't looking to rebuild around fresh talent, so gay is useless to us...and we don't have time to foster a player like him into becoming a good role player...not to mention that the rockets had no intention to draft gay...the deal was pretty much done before the draft.

and it's not based off of one game...where were you last season?

Yeah, Gay is useless, you nailed it.

This team from the management down misjudged.

yeah and shane battier is doing so much better, the guy is a overrated defender who can only hit the open 3, at least gay can create his shot and is an athletic monster who can very well do just about everything battier can do and more. If it wasnt for JVG and his system, there never wouldve been a trade. Adelman wouldve loved to have Gay in his system. Just look at the stats of battier and gay, they should tell anybody enough.

Yao and T-mac gets double teamed give Rudy Gay the ball and let him go to work... that one trade has ruined this team to damnation... unless someone gives us a stud for jack***** i dont see us going anywhere w/o any leadership... the starting 5 has to change throw shane to the bench and have

    Yao
    Scola
    T-mac
    Bonzi
    Rafer

having rafer out the past 2 games showed me how *****ed we are w/o him we need to get rid of Mike James too... something is telling me he's a time bomb waiting to explode

Battier's defense has fallen off. He used to be such a beast in the past.

    The irony continues.

On a night when Rick Adelman started the game running plays for Battier, only to see him keep coming short, Rudy gets a career high.

    Hey Rick!

Battier cant create offense for himself or for the team.

That is exactly why Jerry West traded Battier to the Rockets for Rudy Gay.

Cant believe we still have people here who think Rudy Gay with Tmac would not have worked.

Rudy Gay is shooting 47%. That's higher than EVERYONE on our team except post players. But hey, I guess "intangibles" justify Battier's 40%.

The question should be, when Rudy Gay would REPLACE T-Mac if he wasn't traded. Who cares if they would work well together?

No he didn't. I believe he never was a starter and came off the Bench for a small number of minutes for the Grizzlies. I'm certain this was the case at least during the Grizzlies playoff days where they got swept multiple times, which Battier did nothing to help prevent at least getting a single win in any of the series. You guys seriously overrate the guy. He's mediocre.

Not exactly. Battier became a starter the year before his trade to Houston. It was the same year that Pau Gasol finally broke out and averaged 20ppg, Eddie Jones looked like the Eddie Jones of his Lakers' years and Mike Miller was the 6th Man of the Year. Draw your own conclusions.

    Need to add that,

Almost every single point of Battier's came when it was created for him. He is absolutely dependent on other people, a luxury this team cannot afford.

Battier HAS to stop his man from his usual scoring. But then he DOESN'T score or do much on offense to keep putting pressure on his man. He'll make it tough for them on the defensive end, but they can kick back on the defensive end and expend energy doubling and tripling Yao and McGrady.

At least with Rudy Gay you KNOW he could somewhat keep up with Josh Howard in the scoring if his defense isn't especially sharp that day if he HAD to.

Then you'd have Stromile Swift to come in at backup center or forward.
