You could easily say "Go look at Shane's stat's and tell me why you want him" but I think we all know that you have to watch Shane play to appreciate his game. So you really can not use the stat argument against Barnes.

Guys come on. The rockets dont need any more forwards. What they need to compete is a consistent point guard that can shoot drive and dish out assists.
    Deron Williiams type of guy.

If taking a charge is not a skill, how come more players don't do it?

points well taken but allow me to disagree. I think Shane is a valuable player but come on..taking charges in not a skill..diving for loose balls in not a skill...getting in position is not a skill..it's all about having desire and hustle and willingness to sacrifice his body. ..Shane has heart no doubt but lacks the ability to create his own shot. he does have great shot blocking skills however.

Great argument and I agree with most points. I realize he makes up for his lack of offensive skills by concentrating on the little things that most players don't want any part of. he plays his heart out no doubt.

most players aren't willing to absorb the punishment that comes with drawing a charge. getting your feet set and willing to sacrifice your body is all about taking one for the team...not a set skill
