back when i used to practice free throws out on my driveway, i got up to 127 in a row and broke 100 in a row 3 times (106 and 119). at my best i could hit about 93%. and making 10 in a row was nothing. now considering battier has above-average nba-level coordination and i have above-average weekend warrior coordination, making 120 doesn't seem all that weird. and making 10 in a row is something he probably nails on the first try more often than not. i figured it'd be more like 50 in a row or something.
All NBA teams have practices where they have to shoot 10 free throws in a row before they leave. I remember watching Shaq's TV Show and the Heat had to do the same. They were grouped in pairs of two, and each of them had to make 10 in a row before they could leave. Wade's partner was Shaq....i wonder how long they had to stay
Saxophone, flute, and clarinet. Haha, flute? Are you serious? That's hysterical. I hope you're a girl! As for hitting that many in a row, it's really not that big of a deal. I am a well above average athlete, granted, but I can hit 70-80 in a row just about any time I feel like it. My personal best is somewhere over 600, but I lost count and can't say for sure when it ended. It got dark and I got bored and kind of lost interest in the whole thing. My arms didn't even get tired though. Of course I follow a very strict workout routine, so that probably helps. I spend over 7 hours a day in the gym, but a lot of that time is spent hitting on women in pilates. I do 4 hours of pilates daily. I swear I spend so much time there that I barely have time to run my very large corporate law firm. I work a lot, have a bunch of money, tons of friends, make love to lots of women, but the thing I am most proud of is my charity work. I coach r****ds for the special olympics. It's the most rewarding thing in my life, outside of my free throw shooting ability. I probably could have been a professional athlete if I wanted to do it. The next time the Rockets have a try out camp, I'll probably go just to see what they say. That's just about the only thing lacking in my life right now, so I guess I might as well try it out for a little bit and see if it's as much fun as they say. See you on the flip side. Have fun!
That just show how laughable some BBS guys are who claim "player x, y and z suck at Shooting FT even I can shoot better than them". Shane is an above average FT shooter last year(@0.779 as per Chronicle) and he can shoot 120 in a row, It made me wonder what is the personal record of YAO to do the same thing.
I agree. Even though I may not be the musician you are, every time I practice my scales on the piano I make sure I get the m right 3 times in a row before moving on. I even do with with basketball, before leaving practices I try to make 1 three pointer, 1 layup, one free throw and 2 mid range jumpers, without a single miss.
I think so, old guy I think? He shoots them underhand. Which logically seems like the easier way to make ft's considering the arc and force.
Wow. you're a tool. And you probably play 0 instruments. What's so bad about a flute? Oh wait. You probably listen to music where screaming at the top of your lungs, out of key, is considered "great listening." Carry on.
At the risk of getting way off topic......LOL, give him a break. Most people that are not professional musicians wouldn't know that if you're a sax player, you're pretty much required to double (why do they call it doubles when you play more than two) in order to get work. Even people that played in band in grade school only play one thing, so a lot of them don't know that either. I still never figured out why a flute, clarinet, oboe, violin, viola and similar instruments are girl's instruments.
Yea, that was funny. I remember Shaq said that sometimes it was easier for him to win 10 games in a row than hitting 10 free throws in a row.

You probably listen to music where screaming at the top of your lungs, out of key, is considered "great listening." Carry on. Carry on? OK. I guess I will... I play just about every instrument. Well, every masculine instrument anyway. I wouldn't play a flute, or an oboe, or a piccolo, or a tambourine, or a french horn, or the triangle, or the chimes, or hand bells, or any of those fairy type instruments. I'm a card carrying member of ASCAP actually. True story. I know a thing or two about a thing or two, and I am quite certain that there are certain instruments that are meant for boys, and others that are more appropriate for girls. It has a lot to do with pitch. I can respect having to play the flue (God that is funny) if it means you can play Sax professionally, but having to do that isn't entirely true. I played an old Yamaha YTS-61 professionally in New Orleans for parts of 3 years, but I never had to play the vibraphone, or the clarinet, or the tampon, or the birth control pill, or any of that other nonsense to make it happen. Do you think Clarence Clemons would be caught DEAD playing a flute? Honestly? It's cool though. It's all about the music. Whatever brings you peace and pays the bills, I'm certainly not one to judge. People got to do what's in their heart anyway. I'm sure there are probably lots of male fluters out there. In fact, now that I think about it, Zamfir was a master of the pan-flute, and he sure as Hell was a man. So was Jethro Tull. I take it back. Flute kicks ass.
