I hope you don't apply that to me. Although we agree on most political things, I think he'd be the first to tell you that we don't get along. I'm genuinely concerned, like I would be if you had been hit by a mad cabbie in Amsterdam, and as someone who's been to the city and the country several times and is married to someone who has countless relatives there, I know a bit about the place. Don't paint with such a broad brush, Fatty. We don't like one of our own getting badly hurt like that and then getting mistreated, when it shouldn't be happening that way. Heck, I'd even be concerned for Trader_J, were he in the same situation, although I'd also drive a dump truck full of dirty diapers and pull the lever, given a shot at pouring a load of crap on the dude.
BJ knows me well enough to find the humor of what I wrote. The continual analysis of the post is borderline r****ded. Move along.
I don't think it's about BatmanJones understanding your "humor" as you call it. It's the fact that you dismissed everyone else's concern as being shallow. And the fact that you think your comment doesn't warrant criticism just proves that you feel slightly guilty for the post but aren't man enough to admit it.
Really sorry to hear about that Batman Jones and hope things work out with surgery and recovery. I haven't read through this thread yet so I don't know how bad your prognosis is but I had my femur shattered about 20 years ago in a motorcycle accident and it required 5 surgeries to heal and spent about 2 years on crutches and another 2 with limited mobility. I can appreciate how tough it is to get back from a major leg injury but take it easy on your recovery and make sure to do a lot of physical therapy. Best of luck to you on your recovery.
It's also that cavalier, shallow attitude that has gotten him banned here numerous times. Fatty - hopefully for you, your "good friend" Batman takes what you posted and chuckles instead of getting offended and hitting the old "report post to moderator" button. Hate to see you get banned again, bro.
OK I've skimmed through the thread. I know next to nothing about the Dutch medical system but having been treated, including surgery, in a country with socialized medicine my guess is they would treat you if it was an emergency but since they consider you stable and a foreigner they want money upfront and you are further down the waiting list. It looks like you are flying back already so either way you are problably going to have wait a day or two to get operated on but in the event of something like this happening again it might be best to check the costs of the operation in Amsterdam versus the cost of it in the US, risk involved in a rushed return back. Also for those posters who complain about the wait for a surgery in Amsterdam depending on the doctor's schedule here you might be waiting a few days too.
but what about in the us? you would wish it then? hey, i love a good ffb piling on thread as much as the next guy, but c'mon guys.
Okay, now even I think fatty is getting more grief than he deserves. It seems from both of their posts here that Batman and fatty have met more than once and have some kind of cordial relationship off the board.
No sir, I was just making a joke since gifford1967 and GiffordGrux were both coming to fatty's defense.
I was thinking it was something like this (I can't stop singing this after seeing the thread title): "Batman Jones got hurt in Amsterdam...cuz he got high." Oh well. I guess it was just some dumbass hitting him via automobile. Get well soon, BJ!
