Whoa really sorry for your problems. Seems like you got caught in a no man's land between your insurance company and the Netherlands health care system. Will you have to return there after 6/22 for the legal stuff? Hope you're reimbursed for all this time, money, and hassle when all is said and done. Hope you have a speedy recovery.
Aren't you supposed to direct a show in Albania or Croatia or something? Does the injury mean you won't be doing that?
Yay socialized health care! Can't wait til we get it here. Sorry to hear about that Bats.. life is too short to have to deal with crap like this.
I don't have any idea whether or not socialized health care would be good or bad for the US -- but what the hell does this have to do with the argument -- would people from foreign countries not have to pay up front for medical treatment in the US?
Sorry...couldn't resist. I broke my right ankle a few years ago. I was able to avoid surgery, but it was still pretty grueling. No matter what you do, finish the physical therapy. It's the quickest way to a full recovery. You don't realize how much muscle and flexibility you lose until you're finally able to walk on it.
Ahhhh those crazy Euro drivers man, I almost got nicked twice by a cab crossin the streets in London, RECKLESS Hope things get better with you real quick BJ and the good ol' US of A embassy can step up and speed up the process.
this guy is right. I'd do this. man, i remember you wrote a thread about what to do in Amsterdam... can't believe this happened to you.
I'm shocked. I damn near caught pneumonia there many years ago, had little money (trying to stretch out my trip), and was treated by a clinic with no problem. It's a hell of a thing to do to you. Have you tried contacting the embassy? Traveling in your condition, from the sound of it, is absurd. Well, good luck and sorry to hear of the accident. If you were in Britain (or Japan), I'd think it was another American who forgot that they drive on the "wrong" side of the road. What a freakin' nightmare. Your plans are wrecked, as well as your body. That probably hurts nearly as much! (haven't read page two... looks like you already got the same advice)
Good luck, Batman, and so sorry to hear the news. The medical reaction there is shocking. I've had two different close friends who needed emergency Euro-medical help (including a broken femur), and they had great, fast, expert experiences, with ridiculously tiny bills. That was in Germany (leg break), and Italy (emergency appendectomy.) But forget all that. Get home and get better.
The Dutch just don't know how to treat a superhero. Get well and get back soon, Batman. We need you here fighting crime where it's appreciated.
