Just to chime in my 2 cents: I know a few people who saw the film and for all of them, Ledger's finest moment was walking out of the hospital, and the weakest link of the movie was Maggie G. They also clarified that the weakest link was still solid, just that it was made to appear weaker by the other performances.
So basically, just like Katie Holmes in BB. The character just doesn't have much to do in these movies.
No need for another thread, but I saw Batman and Robin on cable earlier. Holy hell. It's like Epic Movie, only they were trying to make it good. I mean.... I'd seen it before and remembed it was bad, but it never registered what utter crap made it to the big screen. I need new words to describe the fail that occurred despite a talented cast.
I didn't realize this film was still number 1 at the box office this past weekend. I doubt it catches Titanic's record though unless we see a flood of more repeat viewers.
Well it finally got bumped from the top spot this weekend; Tropic Thunder was number one. But it still beat another debuting movie, The Clone Wars. Took in just under 17 million and is on track for about 530 million. http://movies.yahoo.com/mv/news/ap/20080817/121900350000.html
Freaking great movie, but borderline PG-13. There were kids crying in the movie, and I'm not talking babies.
Yeah, pretty old now, but it's fake. http://justpressplay.net/movies/movie-news/3858-fan-made-but-still-cool-qbatman-3q-poster.html When I first saw it days ago, it looked to real to be fake.
I didn't like the movie so much. mainly because of the plot is too unbelievable it simply sucked (especially the second half). Liked Batman Begins much better.
Of course it's an unbelievable plot it's still a comic book movie. A fictional comic book movie. They're just trying to add as much realism to it as possible so you have to appreciate the film for what it is.
That poster gives me faith that a Riddler in Nolan's Batman universe could work really well. But it also tells me again that Johnny Depp is not the person to take on the role. I don't want a Riddler that is comical in any way. But again, I'd really prefer to have someone that can really test Batman physically; we haven't had that yet.
