thank god that Spidey 3 is out of the top of that record book

and I'll say it again after I saw Spidey 3's first weekend earnings, how long will it take for a movie to get $200 million in one weekend, doesn't look like its far away, Spiderman did $100 million back in 2002, and 6 years later, Dark Knight is at $155+ million, its going to take one badass hyped movie to accomplish that.

Jesus christ can relate to superman. He too was sent to earth to save mankind.
ABC family was showing the original Batman last night, and compared to the dark knight, it was like watching a child's movie.

The more I think about it and have sat on it for over a day since seeing it, I have to say that this movie has got to be the best comic action hero movie off all time. It's going to be hard for any movie to break into my top movies off all time (The Godfather and Braveheart)....but this might.
It's easily top 5 for me.

BTW, I had to download the entire soundtrack last night...which is awesome. Gotta Love Limewire baby!!!!!

Fantastic, fantastic movie. Eckhart was so good. Can't wait for the next one.

    Gordon was awesome as well.

I will disagree with those who think it was better than 1. I think they are about exactly the same in terms of quality, just one with a darker plot that is more edge of your seat. Liam as Ras was simply awesome and I hope he is brought back into the series.

He overacts IMO. I think if Joker does come back, it'll have to be a relatively unknown guy no one expects like when Ledger was announced.

    1. Scarecrow scene introduced regular citizens dressing up as Batmen to help fight crime. Batman was inspiring good. Things were looking up. The day Batman could retire was coming. Citizens showed they were capable of good. Build it up before Joker burned it down.

    2. Hong Kong sequence too much for you? Okay then, 70 minutes of every 007 movie are also worthless then. Because thats what that was, a little tiny 007 style mission. Why can't it work in this movie?

    3. Joker sequence told you how genius he could be, how he didn't give a crap about who he killed or who he pissed off. It introduces you to the madness/genius/badassness of what the Joker will be.

1 and 3 of my response are absolutely necessary IMO

this movie is amazing, better than Iron Man for sure.

The length didn't hurt it because all of the moments were jaw dropping, edge of your seat, you don't know what's going to happen next.

Most movies(especially superhero movies) you knew what was going to happen, this movie was so intense and so different in that aspect.

I loved every minute of it.

I was thinking the same thing.

He didn't do very many movies, but he was pretty famous before the Joker role.

A lot of people know him from Brokeback, and I thought all praise for that movie was completely merited, but my favorite films of his were 10 Things I Hate About You and Lords of Dogtown. Before Dark Knight, of course.

Amazing movie, not a dull moment. Typically, I tend to dislike 'superhero' type movies, and had especially been disappointed with the Batman series of years past -- until now, that is. This movie was as close to perfect as you can get, and I thought Ledger's performance was all-time, he really made this movie what it is. A great, great movie. Will definitely add this one to my collection when it's eventually released on DVD.

It's very rare that I like a movie enough to go and watch it a second time, but I will make it a point to go and watch The Dark Knight on IMAX; it will be well worth it...

Hey, Superman the character may be a joke (as far as him just being so super)....but that movie (Superman 2) is still the baddest of them all. Oh, and he got beat up in that movie...so there. I guess his flaw was his love for Ms. Lane. How do you give up being Superman for a chick....

This movie was about 30 minutes too long. As soon as they scape any semblance of a plot and there is nothing but action upon action, I'm done. This could have been great and I was a naysayer going into it and was already ready to eat crow and then something happened. The movie decided to tack on another 20 to 30 minutes worth of nonsense for all of the fan boys that enjoy that sort of stuff. If you leave after the end of the first sequence with the maggie G character and howard's character, the movie was perfect, but after that it is all down hill.

I loved the movie. But something has to be said for Nolan inability to direct action sequences. Paticularly fight scenes. The fight scenes were horrible.

The plot could also have been streamlined a bit.
