lets trade him while his stock is high!! seriously though... i think Battier's starting to come around just like the rest of the team is. He's played well in the last couple of games and we're gonna need him to play well on a more consistent basis. Hopefully he'll be able to slow down Butler/Dirk/Marion tomorrow
Ok you guys are so happy he had one great game, let's see him play like that again in the next couple of games.
Battier had a great game. This was the first game I've seen this season that he actually locked down on someone. Maybe he will get better since he's seen guys once before. And even more offense to boot.
exactly. god i'm tired of these trade battier little babies. don't know anything about basketball or how battier is the glue for the team.
Umm, what? Have you even been watching the games. Funny how perceptions of Battier's defense rise and fall with his offense.
Battier is a below average SF, who has a high ball IQ. However, he can't score to save his life and he can't guard at a high level. Anything over 10 pts, 6 rbs, and 2 assist would be fantastic. However, we will see him go for 3 pts, 3 rbs, and 1 assist tonight. He allows his defender to rest on defense because he has zero offense, which creates a mismatch against Kobe, Carmelo, Durant (off because he has hanging out in Houston), etc... He's chuck hayes with a sometime 3 pointer. We have a bunch of positive good guys who will never get in trouble and will never get in the playoffs/
He is an above average role player, defeinately not a guy you build around. When you compare him to any other guys who play the same role as him, aka Posey, Thabo, Batum, Barnes, etc he stacks up very well. To say he can't guard at a high level is flat out stupid. Arbitrary metric is arbitrary. This isnt even a coherent sentence. Chuck and Shane are nearly always in the playoffs.
Also, SHANE BATTIER DANCES EXOTICALLY http://www.odenized.com/2008/02/shane-battier-dancesexotically.html
He was doing this constantly when we first got him. Not scoring alot of points, but rather hitting key shots when we needed him. But thats what happens when you have a Mcgrady being playmaker instead of Brooks.
