    That's pretty much it exactly.

The really charming thing about Fatty, the thing that makes him such a lovable and irresistible posting buddy here, is that he actually believes he is smart. And not only that but he actually believes he is smarter than other people. I mean, Jesus.

    Talk about awesome.

True, true. And others responding in kind is totally fine with me. Just not by my "friends" on facebook. That's a whole other party where everyone I know is invited and Fatty's the guy who keeps dropping turds down the front of all the girls' dresses and telling them it's hilarious and cool because he does it in real life too.

    p.s. to durvasa:

You'd be right to call me a hothead or a dick. You'd be wrong to call me drunken or a social r****d. The major difference between me and Fatty is that I mostly know when I'm being an idiot or a jerk, which is most of the time on this forum but considerably more rarely elsewhere.

Well, aptitude tests indicate that I am. What other methods are available?

And you're the one who chooses to throw insults everywhere. You just can't take a few thrown back at ya.

    I get ya, pal.

Perhaps some of the posters you've savagely berated here have a number of friends that are CF members as well. Why is it ok to be a jerk here, and not elsewhere?

I don't suggest that it's okay, durvasa. And I've apologized for it pretty often when it's occurred to me that I've gone over the line. Other times I think it's been well deserved. CaseyH, fmullegun, basso and Donkey Magic have all earned much more scorn than I've ever heaped upon them. To everyone else, I apologize for any time I've been a jerk to you personally.

But I didn't delete Fatty for being a jerk; I deleted him for being an idiot. It was just embarrassing to me to have an approved "friend" posting the stupid **** he was posting. It wasn't an argument, I wasn't offended; I was embarrassed by the implied association with such a dork.

BTW, I found Fatty's posts in my email inbox. Here they come...

I get that you've become increasingly bitter at the world over the years.

Am I the only one? You used to be a lot more civil. At least on here.

Now you're pretty much the dude who throws insults.

    Here's the whole exchange:

I liked something mc mark posted here so I posted it as my status: From Talking Points Memo: How long did it take the right to go from: "if you criticize the President you are a traitor" to "School children should not trust the President."

Several people posted in solidarity, making their own quips or whatever. Fatty posted the following two things without comment from anyone else. His reading comprehension was so poor that he thought my ultra-liberal friend Kirk was agreeing with him. That was pretty much the funniest part.

    Here are Fatty's two posts:

    Jim commented on your status:

"I'm fine with Obama in office so far. Quit worrying about the fringe. Oh, wait... You are one. Just on the opposite side..."

Jim Rassinier commented on your status:

"Kirk: Absolutely correct. Obama is the President. If Parents have an issue with what was said, they'll say it. Happened in my generation.

Jason just is an angry man who can't find happiness, so he decides to throw this crap out, which anyone who has internet has seen several times today.

Jason: How many happy rainbows and unicorns will make you happy? You clearly have issues."

So, no big deal really. But, regardless of how fun he is to have around here, why would I keep someone like that on my facebook? Would any of you? I run a non-profit arts organization and all of my professional contacts have access to my page. I don't need to be explaining who the weird drunken lunatic is.

Not really. I was a much stupider, much nastier poster when I still drank like you do.

No you weren't. And if you can't see it, then perhaps my comments last night were necessary.

Yeah, like I said, no big deal. But I did leave his second of three comments out accidentally. Here it is:

"Lol. I gotta be honest, Jason. As much as you like deriding my ignorance on certain political issues, I have to keep laughing at why your panties are always in a bunch about it.

I don't know whether to laugh or have pity at this. Politics ain't changing anytime soon, and I'm the type that has better things to do, normally.

    Cheers!"

These three posts were all made within 19 minutes of each other and I just figured that was enough. You'll notice that though I did post once to let you guys know Fatty was posting about my panties on facebook, I certainly didn't think this episode was worth a thread or really anything more than a laugh.

Don't worry, you don't need to defend yourself, we all realize who the bigger loser in this situation is.

I get why you would boot him off. No reason to have to explain someone else being an annoying pain on your facebook to a potential client, etc.

Good lord. I add and delete people constantly -- it's fun, and I don't like having a big facebook gang.

I deleted my best friend two weeks ago because he friended my boss, and I don't want her seeing my loser posts. No big deal.

I deleted another friend because he's lame and never updates. Whatever. Now I never update and am about to opt out entirely.

But starting a thread on being unfriended on facebook? I wonder if fatty is absolutely the oldest person, by 30 years, to have ever started a BBS thread on this topic?
