I have heard more than one person say DonkeyMagic and NewYorker are the same poster. If it's true, it's kinda funny that they/he are/is talking to each other/himself in this thread.
What's it to you? Clearly, the mods don't care, and he's been around a lot longer than you have. Both of them drive me round the bend at times, but I'm sure I do the same to them. Neither one of them bother me as much as NewYorker. At least basso and Trader_J are consistently whatever they are. And anyone who takes Trader_J seriously needs to get a grip. The only time he ticks me off is when he slanders people, and even then it's because I forgot what his idea of fun is, for a moment. He's sees it as some kind of sick joke. It's not like he puts any intellectual effort into anything. basso is something else entirely. D&D. Impeach the Living Embodiment of the Peter Principal.
Donkey Magic is a very rationale person, and it's ashame people rip him apart for his logical but conservative viewpoints. we disagree on many things, but i find it humorous that people would say we are the same person. Actually it makes sense. It's just like the jokers who say 9/11 was an inside job. everyone needs a conspiracy theory. it's much easier to make up a fantasy than to accept the reality and go with a simpler explanation that's plainy in front of them. but that would mean the might be wrong. when you got guys like sam fisher, batman jones, and deckerd spewing mindless liberal drivel they pick up from who knows where and constantly going on an all character slime mission on those they don't agree with instead of debating....you see basso and tj as pretty rationale and respectful dudes.
nice, quote him so i can see his post. deckard never bothers me because he's probably one of the first i put on ignore years ago. but it's good to know i have been getting his goat all this time without any effort. Deckard: Replicant Idiot.
I've been here the entire time. The reason we don't post anymore is because of the fanatical left-wingers on here who refuse to do anything but insult. It gets tiring, and a lot of us got tired of the pile on. For whatever reason, the libs on here are much more vociferously furious than the moderates or conservatives. Hmmm. Wonder why..... Fact is: there has never been a debate or a discussion in this forum. Mainly it's people who's mind is made up spewing what they think. Myself included. I even tried a thread to state what about the other party one agrees with. I believe it got three responses. This forum should've been blown up long ago.
You are so transparent. Intellectual dishonesty in a threadbare suit. D&D. Impeach the Living Embodiment of the Peter Principal. And Visit a Great City... New York!
Well, that is like your opinion, dude. Obviously, you see what you want to see. Which is cool. Whatever turns you on. D&D. Impeach the Living Embodiment of the Peter Principal.
and if you try to be open minded and change your mind once in a while, you get called inconsistent - it's like they want everyone to be dug in and never change. it's so bizarre. and yet they hate bush who you have to admit one thing - he's as consistent as they come.
Yeah we have a huge enmity towards the moderates. We've declared war on them. Say what you want, but no liberal here has said anything as bad as accusing people of wanting terrorists to win, supporting Saddam or hoping the troops fail. Those blatant lies have been repeated by the war supporters multiple times. That's especially heinous when some of us who are against the war have either served or have family members who served or are serving presently. What it comes down to is that some people can't accept the fact that we want to win the war on terror with a different strategy than the President and war supporters so instead of just disagreeing with our strategy they accuse us of wanting to lose.
i liked bigtexx better! should have kept that one instead tj! r.i.p. and the donkey magic/new yorker back n' forths and back-scratchings going on here are very curious indeed! at 8:51 at 8:54 - surprise surprise!!! at 9:02 - guess what! donkey argrees with new yorker, who was agreeing with donkey! of course you do!
man, you are too much! yes, people thinking you and dm are the same is exactly like 9/11 conspiracy theories! the great conspiracy theories of the past 100 years... who killed JFK? did criminals elements w/in the government orchestrate the attacks of 9/11? is donkey magic actually new yorker? THE WORLD SHALL NEVER KNOW!
Not to change the topic, but I've yet to see anyone say that Bush's recent speech about removing roughly 30,000 troops in the next 9 months, with more to follow, combined with his idea of the two term limit as congratulatory. Quite frankly, I've seen the flip side, which means that, in left-wing opinion, nothing is better than full deployment. Yet, if a Dem were elected, and they said this, it would be lauded. Think about that. Seriously think about how you'd feel if Bush kept his strategy and troops on hold, and then a Dem got elected and did what Bush just stated. For once in your life, think about something from the other side. I've realized obviously that the "wag the dog" idiocy was completely wrong. I wish Clinton hadn't been involved in a scandal at the time. We might've got Bin Laden otherwise. Regardless, I was wrong in my assumptions. Somehow, I doubt you'll be as forthcoming.
Of course they don't really exist. None of you do. That makes it extra funny when some put others on ignore because you are all the same (non)person. I laugh and laugh and then I sleep (although not lately, for some odd reason. Maybe I should eat more apples?). Termagants of the mind.
Fatty, did you just completely miss the fact that the number of troops being withdrawn are the same number of troops sent over during this escalation, or "surge," as Bush likes to call it? That when they are pulled out, you will have essentially the same number you had before? That the reason given by Bush for escalating the war was to achieve political progress and a political solution to the civil war in Iraq? That there has been no progress towards that goal? That our military is so strung out, so worn out, so redeployed to Iraq, again and again, so extended, with constantly extended tours of duty there, that those troops have to come back? You might consider studying what is going on a bit more. Bush is simply playing a shell game. And the fact that he had the commanding general in Iraq come and speak before Congress, while he's hiding behind him, refusing, as always, to take responsibility for his own blunders, while the killing and maiming of our troops and the Iraqis continues, is appalling. What is even more appalling is that this continues. The dollar, meanwhile, falls to a record low against the Euro, which is shortly going to be worth as much as a British pound. He has vastly increased the national debt. We still have a huge trade deficit. Record numbers of home owners are defaulting on their mortgages, while the GOP Congress changed the bankruptcy laws to favor the banks instead of ordinary Americans. And sitting on top of this is the damned war that didn't have to be. Bush's voluntary nightmare, dumped onto this nation through deceit, which he intends to string out until the next president is stuck with this mess that Bush is responsible for. George W. Bush, a man who has never accepted responsibility for anything in his life. Meanwhile, moderates are called liberals, and liberals are called traitors. Other than that, everything is just peachy. D&D. Impeach Bush and Cheney.
Well, I certainly would like to believe that TJ and basso are merely trolls posting flamebait for the sake of eliciting a reaction, and it isn't so hard to believe for TJ. Basso though, like someone alluded to earlier ... I think he really is way out there. Everyone has a right to their own opinions, and I for one won't disrespect anyone because I think their opinions are wrong. At the same time, it really hurts the quality of debate in this forum -- the conservative viewpoint is drowned by liberal voices because many discussions are dominated by reactions to TJ and basso's hardline right-wing arguments that sometimes simply fall short of reason. It sucks for those of us who are conservatives ... personally I just don't bother reading many threads here for that very reason. I already know I'm not going to find a balanced discussion here. In contrast, on a site like Slashdot, even though there aren't many political stories, the discussion system is so effective at weeding out trolls that it is really easy to find and enjoy balanced and well-reasoned debate, despite the fact that its reader base is predominantly liberal.
To be fair, it was 20,000, but no, I'm fully aware. I'm also aware that we are looking at people being deployed in Iraq for the first time. Not sure why anyone would have a problem with that. Oh, and btw, the Euro has never had as much value as the pound.
