bass is basically a more polished version of Landry.

lots of people don't realize how good he is just like people don't realize how good landry is.

I agree with you because I think Bass is underrated and Gortat is overrated.

He will help Dwight Howard because the Magic will finally have another competent power player in their rotation.

Good move by the Magic, I like Bass. He can run the floor and should be pretty dynamic in that open system.

I still think they're 3rd in the East, though, behind the C's and Cleveland. I just don't see the Vince Carter deal panning out like they hope it will.

A decent pick up for the Magic. They needed to get bigger and did well in getting Bass. Bass can relieve Howard and help the bench of the Magic hold the fort while the starters are resting.

I'm quite sure that the Magic won't match Gortat's offer sheet, but I'm curious to know whether Bass was a UFA or a RFA.

Unrestricted. But it doesn't matter. By getting Shawn Marion, the Mavs basically showed Brandon Bass the door.

Yeah, but I feel that they might miss him. On the other hand,Gortat and Marion might be more than enough for them.

Great move by Orlando.. Otis Smith is a smart man.

Bass and DH would be a legit front court.. Bass is pure hustle (like mandry/scola)..

Well, it is said in Magic forums, by some "insiders", that Otis Smith is seriously considering matching the offer that Dallas made to Gortat.

The Magic will pay lux tax, but they say Gortat's salary won't count until the end of the season, so they could be moving him before the trade deadline, to get some assets in return.

There are some threads about trading Gortat for Battier, what would you say about that?

You have not watched Brandon Bass. Not undersized in the slightest, unless you consider Elton Brand undersized...

I'd say it's highly unlikely. Morey made it clear he had an offer in mind for Gortat and wouldn't budge above that number. The Mavs offered Gortat more so Morey moved on. I don't see him trading a player away to take on Gortat at a salary he wasn't willing to offer Gortat.
