Funny you should say that, tinman. I was just thinking the other day that this is starting to feel like 1995 all over again. People had to make excuses for the Rockets winning it all. It was, and still is, really quite pathetic.

I've given up the chase for "respect". This franchise won two titles in a row, and still got discounted by the national media (remember the infamous "World Cup" SI issue?). We need to accept this fact: we will never be "respected" media-darlings like the Fakers, Celtics, Lebrons (whoops, I mean "Cavs"), etc.

It has NOTHING to do with basketball and everything to do with MONEY. Big media markets = big ratings = big money. Focus on Boston, L.A. and soda-pop/sneaker salesmen like Lebron and the advertisers will beat down your door.

You just know that it's driving the media crazy to have the NY Knicks be such a lousy team with no standout players. Otherwise, we'd never hear the end of it.

The more we win, the more likely lottery tanking teams will circle our matchup on their calendar to give meaning to their worthless season.

This is why only 3 teams even have a 20 game streak in NBA history. There are no easy teams once you hit past 10 games.
