Heh thats a bit presumptious of you is it not....I"m assuming that you did not read the make up of my team...It's a good read...
My 3 new teammates are accustomed to A league but C should be fun for them...

Actually, I have discovered the identity of PiPdAdY33. Stumbled upon it through myspace. I've played with him before, and some of the guys on his team as well, if I'm not mistaken. They would make a good D League team for sure, but will get demolished in C League.

By the way PiP, I play up at the UH rec a lot. You would probably know me best as "that white guy that shoots 3's and can dunk". I know I've played you before, as well as that one guy with the long hair that jumps as high as possible on every jumpshot he takes. Also that lanky guy, about 6'4" I think...don't know his name but he's mixed I think. Like I said, you guys won't do so well in C League, but that's not an insult. It's just a very tough league.

    Is your name Maloney?....mmmmm
Well not to make excuses but I've been injured since Nov 03...so hopefully being healthy now I can improve and get ready.
Quite honestly the guys you've seen yes we'd get stomped but I happened to pick up a 6'4 guy who played ball at Kansas and his friend who played with him there...the guy is only 24 so hes not very far removed and he's also going to get me his friend who just got back from China a week or so ago whos about 6'10". This league I'm really just going to slowly get myself back in the flow of things, play defense and spot up for 3's...

The long haired dude who jumps as high as possible now is playing Pro am ball.

I'm not sure which 6'4 dude he's referring to...

LOL...yeah, I get called Maloney a lot. That's me. Your team sounds a lot more prepared to compete in the C League than when you first started this thread. I hadn't seen where you said you're adding a 6'10" guy. That should make a huge difference, obviously. I'd be surprised if you guys weren't at least competitive.

The other guy plays pro am? I ended up on his myspace as well and didn't see him mention that. Anyway, congrats to him. I hated when my friend and I were holding court and then he had next. He'd always come in with fresh legs and I just wouldn't feel like jumping to defend his shots because I was so tired. He is a little trigger happy at times, but then again so am I.

The lanky guy was in a picture with you on myspace I think. Looked like you all had just finished playing ball.

Yeah I think he had made a pro am team then ended up not playing because hes in a band or someting like that. Yeah the lanky guy I call Tayshaun Prince I don't believe is playing with us but we'll live.
I don't remember seeing you practicing with the c-fans guys...cuz I'm sure you woulda stood out ot me...

Let us know how you guys do. One thing though...what's your team's name? I don't see anyone playing their first game on June 5th, unless you're playing at a different YMCA than I thought you were. Post Oak, right?

EDIT: You sure you guys aren't in D League? That starts on June 6th.

    So it's official the 12th of June which is a Monday...this Monday...We have our 1st game...we play at 7:15

Lil nervous cuz our 6'10" guy is in Germany trying out for a team...so he may or may not be back in 2 weeks...we'll see
And one of our 6'4" guys has some torn cartilage in his knee...getting an mri this week...but hes still gonna give it a go this 1st week
But I talked to my friend and he said he'd give me another big guy...which gives us 8 players (6 of which are 100%)...I'm getting closer and closer and not shure wat my friend can give us....

I created an event on fbook for the game..haha...owell..doubt anyone will show...

Don't know if you've seen our thread here in the forum about our D League team, but we weren't able to get in because the schedule was full.

So, the director said we can either have our money back or we can play in the Monday C League, and we have decided to play in C League.

Not sure if we'll have a game this Monday since we're a late addition to the league, but unless there is some kind of complication with adding us, we will be in your league as well.

    Should be fun. :D

So that makes yallt he 9th team?...Because it appears that there are 8 teams now....just wondering because I hate off weeks...its just once a week...no need for time off

I'm looking forward to a match up with the Stalkers...hopefully I'll be back in the swing of things...Are the Stalkers still planning to record the games and take stats?

2nite is my final night of preparation...does anyone have any clue how long it'd take me to get from Uh to the Ymca around 6 or 6 30?

depends on what road you take?

i work in downtown, and i take memorial to the Y.

So i guess you could go north on 45 and take the memorial/houston ave exit, and cruise down memorial. youll make it by 645 if you have a 7:15 game.

I was contemplating just doing 59 to 610...so u'd advise against that?

i dont know. 610 is pretty bad, i dont know how bad 59 is, but im sure its bad.

i take woodway when memorial drive splits.

it can get bad around the area when memorial splits into memorial, and woodway.

I took 59 to 610 and it really wasn't that bad at all...

So our opponent was very D league 2nite...but my guys just seemed to play down to the comp...letting ppl shoot open 3's and ppl take easy layups...and it didn't help that the Refs turned it into a charity case but whatever...a W is still a W
The analysis on the rest of the teams was correct..they seem to be more like B league teams but none the less if we can come together I'll be alright

I feel pretty bad for the team we played 2nite because I'm certain the other teams won't falter like we did...I guess no one warned them about the Ymca C league...

yea well in this league, every team plays zone defense...thus literally leaving guys open for outside shots. i guess its preference, but we rarely played zone...man defense all year for us and it worked in d league.

as it was in d league, and i expect in c league as well, there are not many teams that are poor shooting overall. there seems to be alot of jump shooting going around wherever you play and expecially at ymca from what ive noticed. i dont blame them because the refs dont call anything inside the 3-point line.
