dude... tonight was weird. i didn't feel like playing at all, but once tipoff came around i was like... "damn... i paid sixty bucks for this schit." so the 'tude changed. reggie was cold-blooded tonight. he hit several shots that were right smack in the middle of the half court and three point lines. gawd i hate him. in the future we do need to practice zone though. it probably would've been a halfway decent score tonight. the high flying mofo's are three weeks from now.... then the playoffs, and i'm sure we'll be playing showtime... again. hack away fellas... we've got to many fouls not to use any. but, when you do foul... make sure you don't do what i do (my bad) and let them get get three point plays out of it. so when's the uh thing? when's a "live sports cafe night out"? stack? hook some bruh's up! anyway, good job tonight y'all. on an assist from yours truly, i may add.
man, my game is pure crap right now. shot an airball (i need to leave the 3s to kurt and kalil) and missed a wide open layup. and my damn stamina is f****ed. i think it's this freaking job which i've been on for 2 1/2 months. they got me sitting in front of the computer 7 hours a day. i'm feeling sluggish all the time. i've gained 10 lbs working there. went from 190 to 200.
Well guys, looks like I'm out for the rest of the season. My "good knee" has been bothering me alot since before our first game and I finally went to the doctor today who said it seems to be a partial tear of a ligament. He said that he was surprised the ligament didn't tear all the way through since I've been continuing to play basketball on it which would have been REALLY bad and I would be looking at months instead of weeks. I don't go to the orthodpeadic doctor until Tues to get an MRI and confirm that but, if it is a partial tear, looks like I'll be out a few weeks at least. Bad thing is that the earliest I can schedule them to scope the knee will be after the 24th (cause of my job) so I assume it will be a few weeks after that that I'll be able to get back on the court. Hopefully, I'll be ready to play the next season. I'll still be going to the remainder of this season's games even though I can't play. I'll just be a cheerleader on the bench. Hey, at least I went out with my best game considering I finally got about 10 boards Monday.
Sorry to hear that man. The pain must have been unbearable all this time. Important thing is to heal up man. Don't need you limping around the rest of your life. Kam, looks like you're moving into the starting lineup as PF. Hope you can increase them hops of yours. How did you do defensively the last game anyway?
Tough news man..hope everything goes well with the MRI and nothing major and you can just rest it. Look forward to next season when we are running those D league boys lol....anyways best of luck on the Knee.
Thanks for the support guys. I really haven't had alot of pain, just ALOT of discomfort especially the day or two after the games. Not having that much pain, and the fact it hasn't gotten worse, makes me hopeful it's not too serious. He made it seem it wasn't a big deal and that the procedure isn't anything major, just stressed that I NEED to get this fixed and not play on it anymore so the ligament doesn't completely pop, otherwise it becomes major surgery. Again, I'll be at the last couple of games, sitting on the bench in street clothes rooting you guys on. Biggie, you going to put me on IR?
Nah, we're just going to waive you straight out. You don't make that much so your salary doesn't affect our cap at all Well thank god clutch came onto the team when he did otherwise we'd really get stomped
got damnit. mogrod... i know where you live, m'fer. don't make me drag your arse out there. seriously... this sucks donkey balls. a loss in the board dept is all we need right now. mo, get better and get ready for d league next season. major props for sticking with it while you could, hommie. do some kinda "berkman type rehab" and you'll be fine. are you still taking rush up there? r u e, kam?
LOL! Rush has a car and can drive himself. He is just using me to get to the games cause his car is sh***y! But, I'll still be going up there with him for the last two games. Not sure about UH cause I really don't want to pay $8 just to watch.
The black guy that was with me at the game on Monday night has expressed interest in the D league but I told him I'd have to run it by you guys, of course. He played 3 years on varsity at PG so he can help with ballhandling and he can shoot. He's very close to my height and size, if you don't recall. I have another friend who knows nothing about the league but I think he might be interested if you guys wanted me to tell him about it. I actually have a video of him playing in a tournament at a local park and I'm posting it here so you guys can see for yourselves if you want me to ask him about joining us. He's 6'3" 185 so he'd give us the size we so desperately need. He also played 3 years on varsity and can pretty much do it all. Frankly he amazes me sometimes. Here's the video
those last couple passes are crazy. my opinion on the extra players is that as of right now we have 8 players. 1 or 2 players is at most what we can add because the games are short as heck it seems like. if we had a backup for each position and split time accordingly, i dont think i would mind. 2 thing we do need for any league is size and some dribbling. even though id like to play more than having 10 players would allow me to do, i also would like to win. if we added purely size, we have a chance in every single game this year. so basically im saying i dont mind..but size comes 1st lineup: PG-macalu,clutch,rush SG-clutch,rush,macalu SF-stack,kam,biggie PF-mogrod C-omega so IF we added ur 2 friends we have a glut of gaurds and sfs (just like our home team). but again i dont mind but ultimately im only 1 person. are they anywhere as good as u? just saying my opinion and im not sure if it makes since.....i just cant sleep tonight
The first guy (the one that was with me on Monday) is good. He's a pretty simplistic player though...nothing flashy. He can take good care of the ball and has range to hit the open 3. Not a leaper or a rebounder, but he played PG (backup) on my high school's varsity for 3 years so he knows what he's doing. I definitely feel that my game has passed his up since our high school days, but he's definitely a good guy to have on the team. Wherever I fall on a scale of 1-10 I'd rank him one notch lower. The second guy (from the video) is my pickup game running mate if you will. For the past few years we've been hitting the UH rec together so we play quite well together and we don't often lose. He also played 3 years on varsity at my high school and he can handle the ball, penetrate, and has range. I don't think I've ever seen him play solid man defense but he's the sneakiest guy I've ever seen and he gets steals out the ass by playing passing lanes and sneaking up behind people. On top of that he'll make some of the craziest shots you'll ever see. He is without a doubt better than I am. I'd rank him at least 1 notch higher than myself, if not 2. But I'd like to think that one of those notches is simply due to his 6" height advantage on me Again, he hasn't expressed interest in the league and doesn't even know about it yet, so even if we want him he may not play. EDIT: and yes, our roster is definitely in the mold of our home team. Maybe we can work out a 2-for-1 and get a PF, especially with your brother's knee injury. We could snag Weatherspoon for a box of Dunkin Donuts.
I'm down for monday. Anyone know what time it closes? Also our roster sits at 8 at the moment. 7 if mogrod can't make it. Kam had mentioned he might not be able to make it Tuesdays so we'd be down to 6 if he can't make it. Most I'd want on the team is 8. Playing time is hard to dish out otherwise. If we lose mogrod and kam then yeah we definitely need some size. So if we were to opt for more players I'd like to try and recruit size first.
I don't think in D league size is going to matter too much based on the scoring i have seen on the website lol.
