I'm definitely having fun. A learning experience by far. Of course it's a little discouraging with the losses but had I known the talent level was this high in C league we definitely would have moved to D.

Just a quick survey but who would be up for D league on Tuesday nights?

stack, you're our only bright spot. as long as they keep laying off of you, take the shot. there's not much anyone else can do. going inside out is a good gameplan IF we could get the ball back outside. their size is just too big a problem for us b/c it's easy for them to cover the passing lanes.

i missed a layup and screwed up rushour's assist b/c i was afraid to get blocked inside.

    i'm up for d, but...

... we can play better. a lot better. we got rattled... big time. i did on several plays and others did too. we may be at a disadvantage physically, but that means that we should play looser than the other squad. we should play like we don't give a phock. we're not the favorites whoever we play, so we have absolutely NOTHING to lose. may sound like "coach speak" or whatever, but it's true. we can play a lot better.

myself-quit being a pucking fussy and take the ball to the hole if you can dribble the ball around the defender. quit getting rattled halfway towards the goal and getting the ball stolen. make layups... pretty please.

mogrod-don't hesitate on the three if you have it. rebound the f*&^ out of the ball like you usually do. seriously... me and you are gonna have to develop some kind of "push in the back" technique if we're gonna succeed (sp?) in the board dept.

rush-seriously, man. you can dribble through all five players on the other squad if you wanted to. if you get hacked... flop... phock it. the other team is like 6'5"+, so the refs shouldn't have a hard time believing it. you're the x-factor (bad arse comicbook back in the day, btw.)

bolo... van (hehehe... cool arse nickname)- we need some more of those tricked out layups that you showed us at uh. the passes that we've seen from you were cool too.

kam-dude, you have the hops (more than you should have at your height). you rebound the ball like a muth... like you always do. you're d is bad arse.

biggie-you're the all around player AND the coach. you pass well, you can shoot the three, defend, etc... b**** us out man when we need it. we can take constructive criticism.

mj-don't hesitate on the mid-range jumper and you're quicker than most for your height. dribble around these muths. i think we both play the same.

clutchcityreturns (damn... you do look like maloney, but w/hops)- if you see a shot you like... take it. more often than not i'm sure you'll hit it.

stack- whenever we play the games, i hear other players say "get the shooter"... "get the shooter". well... you can shoot the schit out of the ball. i take some of the blame for not setting better picks to get you open. EVERYBODY, if you stuck with the ball and all five of the defenders are around you, look for stack at the upper right wing of the three point arc. more often than not, he'll drain it.

did i forget anybody? sorry (gin and minute maid tropical punch).

DON'T GET RATTLED. WHY SHOULD WE?!?

we have mf'ers growling at us (literally) on the court like 00 did today. i don't like being patronized on the court at all. i don't like losing. none of us have fouled out of a game yet... right? hack a shaq. well... compared to us, all of these mofo's are shaq, so if someone comes inside make'em earn it.

btw... i'm down for a saturday uh session if any of you want to join in. zone prac?

screw that. :D i'm down for a night at live sports on saturday. we need a relax day, so we can loosen up a bit. nerves seem to be a problem. stack?

kam, what happened to the whole "trip technique" that you were supposed to carry out during the game. we could have used it against the "growling guy" (double zero).

i have to agree...we havnt played an even close to a perfect game for us. alot of us at times seem really intimidated. what happened with david and goliath? we can beat these teams...seriously.

yea i have to apologize with not being aggresive enough. for some reason i was looking to pass along the arc the past game and not taking it in between defenders like i did the previous game.

my overall view point of the game is the same ol same ol. too many turn overs and not enough rebounding. mogrod and omega need some help down there. also i was happy to draw another charge...i think im averaging 1-2 a game.
anyways, D leaugue would be good with me after the next session...hell i miss beating up UH talent. :D

You're right! I'm pissed as hell that I haven't done alot on the f***ing boards! I feel that is the best way for me to help this team and is my role, and I feel like I'm not doing my part.

Since the other night, every time I think about the game or my performance, I get extremely pissed! I especially get angry remembering that team laughing their a**es off at us the whole game. Then, that little punk on thier team wanted the refs to stop the clock at the end so they could get to 70 points.

I know we are out sized and are a little off talent-wise as well, but I can't stand them f***ers laughing and mocking us like we are nobody!

I guess it's a good thing I have been on the bench at the end of these games because I would have seen one of them laugh at us or make a punk-a** comment and I might haved layed them out when they went in for a layup.

I guess it's the way I was brought up in sports. If a team and/or player are disrespecting you, you show them we are not going to take that sh**!

Anyway, about the rebounding, I will continue try to do my best. It's tough being 6'0 and fighting with 2-3 guys twice my size, but I'm going to keep fighting. I think we all, myself included, need to focus more on putting a body on anybody we see and boxing out.

I'm still confident we can get a win or two this season. I hope everyone else is also.

i'm not calling anybody out or anything... not in the least bit (so, no apologies or whatever). if anything, i haven't been playing the way that i'm capable of playing. shot selection, rebounding, turnovers (terrible), etc. i'll be more than happy to point out myself for playing like a bearded clam. awful.

we all need to crack down on d. 2/3 zone or man to man (most likely the latter since we haven't practiced the other). NONE of us have fouled out yet... right? i've caught a couple of guys across the arms, but i haven't gotten the whistle blown on me that often (has happened a few times). so.... do it more... don't make it too obvious of course.

still i say the biggest issue is nerves. we're underdogs. nothing new after the first three games, right? we should get used to it. nothing to lose, fellas.

what it looks like is that the "a" league is using the "c" league as a practice sort of thing before the real thing starts up. the y should do something about that. use our resources... foul more. i've averaged about two fouls a game. i'll be more than happy to put in a couple more.

we've been close up until halftime, but after that we've slipped up. why? there's no reason why we can't keep up the pace.

it ain't over yet, beeyotches. ;)

we do stay close for the first 10-15 minutes.

I kept saying to myself man, we are within four or five points, we will do okay.

and then, man, i don't know what happens.

    i dont know.

What every team has continously done to us is pretty simple. The teams go inside we know that. The one thing we lose a lot of points is that no one runs back with the guy that releases when we shoot the ball. They know we are going to shoot becasue we can't go inside so someone always releases as soon as the shot is taken and they have an easy fast break all the time. In that one stretch they scored a quick 15 points or so on cherry picking and releasing after the shot.

We are going to have to counter that by having someone that is up top on the wing release right as the shot is going up on our end. The odds are slim we are going to get the rebound so there is no point in hanging around the top of the wings. So that person who doesn't take the shot should just immediately take off to cover the guy that breaks out. That is the only way we are going to limit the number of points they get that way.

Sounds like we took another one on the chin, from what I've read.

Honestly I think the reason we are always close at halftime is because with a running clock and very sporadic and short timeouts, the other teams don't really have time to talk strategy once the tip goes up. The first half, they are just out there gunning like we are, getting a feel for the game. Come halftime, they look up at the scoreboard and say "damn...we're not even up double digits on these guys". The next step in the process is that they say "well they ain't got anybody over 6'2" over there so let's just go inside the whole second half". That's pretty much how it happens, in my estimation.

I think if the other teams made a diliberate effort to pound it inside on us from the beginning of games, we'd lose by 40. They are just out of our league in a physical sense, if not flat out talent as well.

If I run full speed into a brick wall, I'm not going to break through it, no matter how hard I try. To a lesser extent, I think that's what we're dealing with here. Not quite hopeless, but pretty close.

    D League here we come.

Hey this time we sucked it up first half and then in second half the shots started falling but by that time we were already down.

i don't know how many i scored in the second half anyways lol sometimes i wanted to hesitate cuase i didn't want to be the only one shooting.

But i have to say in the second half i came out with that nothing to lose mentality and started stroking it i guess.. I started to feel more comfortable. Hopefully i can carry that to this weeks game.
